Just drove past and that SE corner, behind the Gym looks a right mess. Weeds everywhere and the advertising hoardings look like they are ready to fall down.
It badly need fixed/Tidied up before the season starts….it’s the little things…
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Sounds like there needs to be a supporters work party. I’m sure there would be some willing and able volunteers.

Isn`t there already a set of volunteers who do small but really effective tasks.riund the stadium like scraping up chewing gum and replacing the reserved stickers on seats? It`s that time of year where weeds just grow like mad so it`s probably on someone`s list. Equally, the sponsors/advertiser`s will be changing so maybe they`re waiting on that?

It’s the area on Halbeath road itself and it’s been like that for years so I have a feeling it’s not on the radar but it should be imo..

Without stirring it up, I wouldn`t be surprised if that hoarding is unofficial. Fife Council is hopeless at taking enforcement action in Dunfermline. Take a look at the old.St Margaret`s works being used as an Alhambra billboard as an example! The club maybe doesn`t want to do much there in case it raises it to the councils attention. It`s just a wee car park behind it.

The land was last purchased at the same time as the stadium but seems to be considered separate. I`d imagine both are owned by EEP Ltd as they were purchased in October 2013.

It did cross my mind that the Pars don’t own that area or are responsible for it but someone needs to step in and sort it out. It’s embarrassing….
But one thing that DAFC are responsible for is the guttering at the southside of the Norrie that is hanging down. I mentioned this last season after it was fixed ( allegedly). I would be getting them back to do it properly. It’s the small things….

I don’t know if same thing but there was a cherry picker working on the Norrie earlier last week.

The area in front of the old St. Margaret’s works is owned by Bill Fletcher who also owns the Alhambra so not a lot the council will do there.

The area on the corner is very much owned by DAFC and the advertisers pay a rent to the club for its use.
The area was significantly damaged in storms over the last year and I believe there are plans for the club to revamp the area, but as with everything budget is a concern

jake89 I think you will find that the volunteers do far more than scrape gum or replace reserved stickers.
They clear up all the rubbish left after games, wash down the seats, scrape and repaint the safety lines on the stairs and maintain and repaint the barriers to mention only a few of the many tasks they undertake on behalf of our club.

Budget ? Won’t cost much to pull up some weeds reconstruct the wooden advertising hoardings and just tidy that area up..
If I was the CEO and drove past that eyesore regularly I would be demanding it was fixed….its an embarrassment for a big club with big ambitions….

He lacks advertising consent for it. Fife Council are aware but turn a blind eye. I`ll leave it to the imagination why that might be. Still waiting on that drama school opening along with the urban village and what about the dance school? 😬

Never liked the red/pink seats. Did we not get them second had from somewhere ? They must be over thirty years old.
Should have got black/grey ones. Can’t see us getting them replaced until we have been in SPL for a couple of seasons and sold on a gem or two..

No it isn’t. It’s owned by PUEEP Ltd. Pars Foundation were going to use the advertising space within that area, absolutely is the clubs responsibility and nothing to do with Vertu/Macklin. Shared access road only in the link.
