Musa Dibaga Nimaga (born 27 April 2000) is a Gambian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for NIFL Premiership side Crusaders.[1][2]
Career
Dibaga started his career playing at Murieston Amateurs (second choice) before moving on to Robres of the Spanish Tercera Federación, being promoted to the first team and making 20 appearances over the 2020–21 season. In July 2021, Dibaga moved to Scotland and joined East of Scotland Premier Division side, Whitehill Welfare for a season before leaving them following their relegation to the First Division. In July 2022, Dibaga joined Lowland League side, Bo`ness United on a two-year deal. In his first season, Dibaga picked up a Lowland League Cup runners up medal, as Bo`ness held East Kilbride to a 2–2 draw before losing on penalties.[3]
In August 2024, Dibaga got his first move into professional football, joining recently relegated Inverness Caledonian Thistle in Scottish League One,[4] before making his professional debut a fortnight later in a 1–1 home draw against Montrose.[5] After being a big part in keeping the Caley Jags in League One amidst the club suffering through administration, Dibaga departed Inverness in 2025 "with a heavy heart" after not being able to agree on terms for a new contract due to the club`s situation.[6]

Spooky old thing, I watched him a good number of times when he was at Bo’ness, as people who Coached my son played for them at the time and Musa was in goals.
Must admit, he was pretty solid for the Lowland League, but he did have his shakey moments but you could see he was destined for a league side. Livi scouts were watching him, but obviously he went to ICT instead.
The way things have worked out for him, I never thought I would see him at East End but fingers crossed he does well, definitely an interesting signing.

I`m of the opinion that a goalkeeper is the only position where a low league doesn`t matter that match. A good save is a good save no matter what level. It`s different from an outfield player making the step up. The only real difference is handing the pressure of a higher level/bigger club.
I can`t see him costing much so he may well be being brought in to fight for first place with another goalie still to come.

Surely having any player who is good enough to get called up to play international football for their country is a good thing. For one thing it’s a great advert for DAFC and we getting a player who is highly regarded as be one of the best players in their home country that can cover that position. When we had call ups last season we weren’t forced to play a weakened team. Games were rearranged were they not?

The problem was the rearranged fixtures combined with our Cup run caused congestion which meant we weren`t always able to field our strongest team. It might have affected our qualification for the play-offs.

The club were on record as saying they had to go to an SFA exceptions panel to secure a work permit/visa for Alfons Amade.
If that indicates the sort of threshold it would seem unlikely you’ll secure foreign talent unless they have been involved in some form of international set-up.

most of the foreign signings go through the SFA panel as they dont automatically qualify for a work permit but they are not international players or near that level, StJohnstone just signed a Spaniard from the 4th tier over there as an example.
there are a few hoops to jump through but it is almost like you pay the costs for the appeal etc and the player gets in basically.
"Hopefully we still have The Ox or Tobi to come back as first choice"
Motherwell`s no1 being linked with QPR today so a timeline for Oxborough could be even longer if they are willing to let him go, as for Oluwayemi i think that ship has sailed a long time ago but you never know, a different problem is you would think you would want your keepers to be similar types, not the complete opposite which he and Terrell are in comparison to Dibaga, Oxborough and Mehmet.

I think it’s a gamble going into a season you are aiming to win the league with two GK’s who are unproven at this level.
I’m still hopeful that Ox will come in (and perhaps Terrell out on loan to League One to get experience).

the fee could have been something as low as 5 grand and the plan is another keeper comes in, Terrell moves back down south with him about to become a dad in the next couple of months.
with the struggles in that position until Oxborough came in, i cant see them only having those 2 as options. see what Lennon has to say on it either before or after the weekend`s game.

Not technically true. The league had plenty of opportunities to schedule the league games elsewhere, but they chose to put them right next to our cup games.
Having internationals is a good thing for the club. We didn`t have the squad depth last season, which is something it looks like we`re addressing this time around.

“Musa came to my attention a few years ago when he was playing sort of junior football, really,” said Lennon of Dibaga’s remarkable rise. “But it sort of went away again.
“Obviously, he’s been over in Ireland with Crusaders and he’s had a good second half of the season.
“He’ll obviously complement the goalkeeping area, which we’ve been short in.
“He needs a bit of conditioning work but he trained on Friday morning and he looks fine. He knows the environment and we’re going to push him and hopefully make him better."
“But we’ll definitely be going for another one, yeah.”
it also says the other wont be Kieran Wright.

I`m probably reading too much into this but I noticed Dibaga is number 12 & Terrell is number 40 for the season, so presumably the keeper we`ve still to sign will have the number 1 jersey...
I know squad numbers don`t mean too much, but if Dibaga was signed as first choice I would`ve thought he`d have the number 1 shirt...

Terrell didn`t look like he was moving very well when they came out for the warm up, and he didn`t dive for many of the shots towards the end of it. There could potentially have been an injury there, which may have forced Lennon into starting a goalkeeper who had only arrived on Friday.
The main issues are at centre half and in central midfield. Gilmour needs more quality alongside him, and when we can`t defend long balls, it really makes you question the quality of our centre halves.

He looks like he is 4-6 weeks away from full fitness I thought. Its obviously early doors but we were undoubtedly very poor and looked like the lower league team. A bit of work to do ready for the championship season where we must hit the ground running.

I think we`re being a bit harsh on the keeper, he`ll definitely be fitter for FT training but some of the comments on his shape are exaggerated.
I thought he did fine 1st half, what did surprise me about the 2nd goal was watching his highlights and with his handball background he didn`t spread himself, he must make himself bigger there.
I`m surprised at NL`s comments in that he`ll compliment the GK position, I`d presumed any signing would be as an No.1.

He is a keeper, so he won’t be expected to do the same running as an outfield player. Yes, losing a bit of weight will help his agility, but on the flip side, he’ll be able to come for corners and crosses and bulldoze opponents out the way?

doesnt matter if its part time or full time, a pro footballer should not be in that condition, i seriously doubt 4-6 weeks training will make much of a difference either.
Terrell is injured but presumably the club knew they could have played a trialist if need be? too many questions around this but this better not be a sign of things to come.

Pretty sure I saw NL interviewed when the keeper was signed stating he needed `conditioning work`. So the management team clearly know he needs work on fitness/weight.
I only watched the highlights so can`t comment on how he, and others, looked re overall movement. NL said they looked like they had an `extra layer` and looked off the pace and might need to look at the fitness plan. That doesn`t sound very encouraging re what is happening on the training pitch.
Head scratcher how EK can look just so far ahead in terms of sharpness and movement. That Malik Zaid looked a very decent player.

Yes I picked up on that as well. Bit puzzling although I could see an argument that it could be both ie last seasons players still not recovered from end of season exertions and new p/t bit part players who aren`t up to speed for this level?
Overall though it did just sound like he was deflecting a bit to protect the players after an unexpected humping.

Yes I thought the same re Zaid. Overall EK looked to have better movement. The 2nd and 3rd goal were defensively very poor. I thought our keeper should have made himself big for the 2nd not small. He is out of condition in my view, should have done better with the 2nd but is was two goals due to poor defending be the centre backs.

Playing devil`s advocate here, but all our goalkeepers seem to get worse since we signed them.

He has alot of potential so a permanent signing would be best, but could be a season long loan deal. Depends on Dundees financial.position.
He would get regular first team football. Given NL and the coaching staff have improved players chances of international.football, this would be a good move for both parties. At 23 he needs regular football.

Malik Zaid was impressive with Edinburgh City, first as a loanee from Hibs before signing a permanent contract with EC. He`s only recently joined East Kilbride, but if our remit is to develop good young players he`s definitely one we should be keeping an eye on.

Noticed that too. Seems a bit odd to play someone in a cup game even for 20 minutes if you have told them they can leave. He had a 3 year deal when he signed so maybe trying to put him in the shop window, sell for more money, cup tie him for other clubs in Scotland, take another look at him before letting him go?

There may also be a bit of interest in him from other clubs so Dundee may be looking for a bit of a return on their investment hence playing him. Alternatively he may have decided to stay and fight for his place. Who knows.

There`s a short interview in the Courier today with Oli Shaw in which he says he was at the Cup Final in May. He`d got tickets through his friendship with Aston Oxborough who was at Motherwell when Oli was there during a brief loan spell.
Is it a coincidence that less than two months later Oli is a signed Pars player and there are strong rumours that the Ox is about to join him?

Big, big signing. The guy was excellent for us last season, if Motherwell hadn`t stopped him playing against Partick I think we would have been promoted.
I think if we now get in a big, strong, experienced centre back and an upgrade on what we have in central midfield we can win this league.
Looking at the team now, I`d say in the players below we have the best player in that position in the league-
Oxenborough

Two great shouts, Zod. I know both lads thoroughly enjoyed their time at the Pars last season and wouldn`t take much convincing to come back if the clubs can agree a loan. Both players would have been in contention for a SC Final starting place had they been fit.

Corbally looks like a good signing. The fact Fyfe has gone out on loan gives the impression we`re looking to add more depth than we had last season, which is definitely an upgrade on what we had.
I`d still love to see another right wing back and a central midfielder come in. If the right centre back becomes available, I wouldn`t be against it either, but for me, centre midfield and right wing back have to be the priorities if we`re going to be competitive.

He should look good against Dumbarton...and he did. Surely that`s a good thing?
Of course it is, but I`m sure you and everyone will realise that it is important not to get too carried away at this stage. Let`s see how he gets on against Championship opposition.

A centre midfielder (possibly 2) and a right back are essential. An injury to Gilmour, Amade or Kearney and were really struggling

"Lennon stated previously that we were at 10 out and 5 in Ox now makes 6.
Going by the maths we may expect 4 still to come in."
with returning loanees, promoted youth players etc id say 1 in to replace what left at the end of last season, possibly 2 then 1 in 1 out on those in the current squad, could see at least 4 of them going out too so still potentially a lot of work to do.

Every single one of our players should have looked quite good against Dumbarton given they are a part time team now in the lowest league.
The big tell is against the physical bigger teams in this league full of wily old pro’s, it’s taken most of the younger players we’ve signed. at least 6 months to adjust to the pace and physicality of this league. Will be interesting to see how Corbally gets on.
It’s why we need a couple of commanding centre backs, Gilmour and Kane in the team, to be physical and help protect those younger players from getting bullied.
The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!

NL obviously thinks Corbally can handle the Championship, if not higher, or he wouldn`t have signed him. He knows a bit about midfield players. Robinson and Shaw are hardly young boys and have played at a higher level. An experienced goalie like Ox helps too and there may be more to come. It`s easy to sit on the fence but I trust the manager`s judgement.

NL in the Courier is saying he`s still looking for up to four players but he may have to wait until later in the window when some may become available. He mentions midfielders, a wide player and possibly a striker, but no mention of CBs.
