We`re more interested in debating whether goals scored in the third-place play-off should count towards the Golden Boot, GGR!

I hear Trump is there. Will he have a direct line to the onfield ref or will he have to go through his mate, Infantino?

He’s the pre-fight ring/cage announcer for the UFC and is brother of Michael Buffer who does the boxing.

Interesting story that they were separated in early childhood and never knew each other until after they both became famous for ring announcing

Argentina trying to kick Olmo out of the game. Best I`ve seen him play tonight.

Argentina were quite open at the start but are trying to shut the game down now.

I’m liking the Spain attitude at the back. Playing only a few passes, and if nothing open, to midfield, it gets played long.
Far too many goals at all levels are given away by fannying around at the back and getting caught out. (Not mentioning us v Brazil…)

Messi’s shot that Merino blocked with his face in ET was starting to swerve away from the GK and would have been trouble.

Paredes a a disgrace at full time, trying to fight everyone and anyone.

Apparently he got a red card for his full-time antics.

Spain dominated Argentina almost as much as Argentina dominated England in the semi-final........ 🤔😁

My TV was heading out of the window if Argentina had somehow held out and won on pens. 😠

Yeah Spain were just too good and meant Argentina had to park the bus and try to disrupt…

No different really to when a lower club plays similar to hold the rangers or Celtic to a draw - which in that instance we all celebrate/find amusing.

I would have thought the two teams making the final would have been closer matched and therefore had a more even game

I can’t really decide which was worse, the half time show, the extended bbc advert or the match itself 🤔

Football won tonight. Spain the only team interested in actually getting the ball down and playing. Argentinia done their job in sending engerland packing.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

Reportedly Argentina players turned their backs on Spain receiving their medals and the trophy last night. Pretty classless Id say.

Argentina have some talented players but they also have a few who are little more than thugs or are prepared to resort to violence if they think it will give them an advantage; credit to Messi for not getting involved in the thuggery.

^^^ A Red Card is meant to be dished out for a footballing offence. This was a criminal act. 🤔

The Spanish goal that was ruled out should have stood. 🤔

Messi making a pass and then purposely running + crashing into the Spanish player to win a free kick for himself when it should have been awarded to Spain 🤔

What`s the point of VAR if these antics are going to be allowed?

Argentina left a bad taste after a decent world cup. The footballing world needs to take action against thuggery

I’m pleased Spain won. They play football in its most pure format. Nobody who loves football could condone the antics of the Argentinians. It’s a shame because they do possess some excellent players such as Messi, Alvarez, Martinez and Romero.

Take Messi out of that team and it`s only above average. By the way I think Messi should have got the golden ball. Other than the final he made telling contributions, sometimes amazing ones, in every game.

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

And Manchester United. And Milan. And Ajax and Bayern told them where to stick the Intercontinental Cup. 🙄
