The New Digital Era is ****

So I understand from a previous announcement that they`ve brought in Urban Zoo to handle the Pars Digital offering and that they work with Celtic, Aston Villa, etc.

Are we getting their work experience guys and gals working on the club website? It`s shocking.

Was I the only one that couldn`t find the brand new kit in the shop last week (but could see loads of adverts for 23/24 leftovers?

Opportunities to give the club money should be front and centre on the homepage. Not buried under piles of ***** or hidden within complex navigation. That`s absolute web design and User Experience basics

Currently writing this as I wait to watch the Cove stream. Which they`ve completely nobbed. Firstly, it was impossible to locate on the site. Then the stream doesn`t work and even though you`ve subscribed it still lets you pay again.

I`ve been working in Digital since the 90s and there is so much wrong with the current setup and I don`t care about excuses for teething problems. They were obviously in a rush to get this up for the start of the season and it just hasn`t been properly tested.

I’ve had similar issues to the OP. I’ve still not seen them play this season

I did not manage to watch the game until 15 minutes in.

There was no button to click to get the stream.

Yes, same issues here. Paid twice, but couldn`t get the game to open for some time. Sort it out sharpish, DAFC LIVE. And I would like a refund for my double payment, please.

Couldn`t get on for five minutes then it was sorted. Multiple apologies during the broadcast. Very, very professional commentary and stream. I`m not going to have a headloss about a new service.

Once they sort out the teething problems, it looks like it will be a very good service. Does anyone know if they plan to stream away games like ParsTV did?

I think the new website is quite difficult to navigate. It is not particularly user friendly/intuitive.

Must admit, I don`t have an issue with the new site. Logged on this morning, the manager`s post about Cove Rangers covered the screen, and the shop was on the tab at the top.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

My company employed the same company to help with our website and had issues and cut them off unfortunately.

about new COWS - login and use the Accessibility Menu (bottom right)

I find one click of Bigger Text and one click of Text Spacing makes things look nicer.

Point of order mr speaker, the new streaming service once live was absolutely faultless.

No disrespect to Pars TV, but it seems to be the upgrade many have been asking for.

Thanks must be given to PARS TV for all their hard work over many years.

It will be a real plus this year once the gremlins are ironed out.....and remember the last 2 have been muted as test streams.

Yeah, new TV service is great. Trying to find it/access it on the other hand is just not good enough.

Visiting the site there, it`s taking almost 10 seconds to load and it`s not even a match day. The site has not been optimised properly.

Take a look at the main expanded navigation. It doesn`t even fit on the one screen. It doesn`t all need to be on there. It`s like they`re listing every single page. There are more logical ways of presenting content heavy sites and also making sure the most important (to the audience) stuff isn`t hard to find.

On the plus side, it`s almost accessible for all users.

It`s easy to stand at the sidelines and say " this could be better" but we`re supposed to be getting this done by an experienced, professional company and either they aren`t up to it or whoever is managing this from the club`s side isn`t.

(The Aston Villa site is the same template and possibly worse so I`d guess it`s the company churning out the same stuff)

As someone who is profoundly deaf the new website is pretty poor. Most content is now video and none of that has close captions or there is no transcript for those who need to read what is being said.

I`ve already reached out to the Disability Officer about this but am still waiting on a reply.

It may be new but it seems to have taken a step backwards for me.

Perhaps an app to make access easier?

Ok, so I can learn something here.

There are two bits to the system
The OTT platform website and the video steam production.

I`m guessing the access platform isn`t clear to use.

Ive not been to the stadium in 2 years, so unsure of the production setup.
What I gather is the video output stream seems different.
So what`s the actual difference between the ParsTV output and that on DAFC live?

For me the output difference is night and day, the picture is crystal clear, not a single lag on the stream, replys were quick and caught the actual intended action.

The commentary is also spot on.

Why did the previous and current systems seem to cut it fine when producing the stream?

Does it not make sense to just get it set up 30 minutes in advance and make sure it`s working well in advance?

I appreciate it might be a pain for those setting things up, but it feels like that level of inconvenience is much less than the various situations we have had when stuff goes wrong.

No offence meant to anybody, and I don`t have the data to justify this, but that`s certainly how it feels from the outside looking in.

The picture then is it 720, 1080 or 4K

If that got sent to ParsTV would that have solved some issues?

Not sure on the resolution but I didn’t find the quality of the picture an improvement over what I’ve seen before. Replays were dropping frames everywhere. And login page would not load on my Samsung tv tried a few different browsers but it didn’t make a difference.
Had to watch the game on my iPad. Hopefully all these issues get solved asap for all our fans living outside the UK. Thankfully I’ve got a season ticket so it’s not a service i will use very often. But much work needed before people are forking out £££ for a subscription.
