It`s a difficult league but Livingston are no St Johnstone and Stenny are no Ross County. Will Arbroath have another great season or prove to be a one season wonder? If we don`t win the league or at the very least run the eventual winners very close, questions need to be asked. I can`t see Lennon staying if we don`t go up this year so it would be another reset with a new manager.

Livingston
Partick
Dunfermline
Maybe Raith
In no particular order.

It’s the weakest championship for years in my opinion. I don’t expect Livingston to be as dominant as St J were last year as far as the team coming down goes. Partick will be weaker than they were last season without Stanway and Chalmers. Rovers are on the decline, Arbroath would be extremely lucky to get as good a crop of loan players as they did last year.

It’s there for the taking if we add another 3 or 4 quality players with a bit of experience at this level or higher. If the owners decide to go for it this year, I think we will have a very good chance of winning it if we are fortunate enough not to have too many bad injuries to key players.

We have got to believe in ourselves. In my opinion,we down ourselves sometimes. Our cup runs prove, with the right mindset ,we can achieve things.

No idea how good Inverness are going to be but their fans seem to fancy them doing a Falkirk.

Apparently Partick are still in talks with Stanway about staying.

Few people seem to be talking about Ayr but they’ve started the season on fire.

I don`t think it will ve any easy league but you have to set you objective of autonatic promotion. Key will be consistency of performance and I oersonally fel we are in a better position this year in terms of the squad than last year. To bring in another 2 or 3 players to add to tge squad to create competition and allow for injuries etc. will provide a bit of a buffer performance wise. Now we have Ox and Teŕel, we should see more consistency in goalkeeping performances than the first half of tge season last year. Also a bit of focus on avoiding losing early goals will make a big differebce, no doubt one of tge things Bene will be working on in training. All in all I believe our trajectory is upwards and I feel we will be up there competing for a top spot finish.

Championship is never easy no matter what teams are in it. it’s unbelievably hard to get out of, hence why we’ve been down for so long.

Any team can win on any given week, it’s a very unpredictable league.

Lennon gives us the edge on the competition and with another 2 or 3 options to add to the pool, we’ll be right in the mix. Don’t see Arbroath or Raith being a threat. Livi and Partick the teams to keep tabs on but nothing to fear with a strong squad being assembled.

Think it`ll be Livi, Pars and Partick top 3 in no particular order.

Livi have the edge in terms of mentality of having it done it the most recently.

Pars have the Lennon factor and probably the most attractive place to play in terms of financial.

Partick have almost become serial losers, getting so close so many times without success - got to change eventually!

C'mon Ye Pars!

I work in Prestwick and all the Ayr fans are saying how shockingly bad they have been despite getting results.
They are worried about relegation if they don`t get some decent players in.
The guy Taylor they signed from Stenhousemuir is the only player that`s got pass marks.

It`s a huge challenge, I still feel like we`re 3-4 quality players short to get us right to the top but I think getting in Corbally, Shaw and Ox has improved us in those positions. Having Robinson and SCH in early to gel with the squad will help with the loss of JCM and Ngwenya but still to be seen if they replace them (hopefully Donnelly deal gets over the line to help too)

Partick Thistle have done some decent business managing to get Smyth and Fitzpatrick back whilst adding Drozd and Henderson. Managed to replace Clarke in goals who was solid with McFarlane who is highly rated on loan. Also possible they get Stanway to return short term if the compensation puts teams off (seems to have done for Falkirk). They`ll be up there.

Livingston I could see going either way, they`ve got a huge squad mixed with players that could have a hangover from last year`s poor campaign and have also brought in some unknowns from elsewhere. Smashed Forfar in the league cup and drew with both Stenny and Thistle. My guess is they will challenge too but not a huge fan of Whelan as coach with Martindale lurking in the background if things go wrong.

Going to be another rollercoaster season I`m sure, I just hope we can have a good go at the title which we`ve not managed in a long time

I see it as a three horse race with Livi and PT the other two.

It`s a steeplechase rather than a sprint. Early form may be interesting but not necessarily decisive. There may be a dark horse - Stenny???!!!

It’s not going to be easy, it never is. I don’t think Livi will be as strong as St J. I don’t think Partick Thistle will be as strong as last season. I think Morton will be relegated. Caley - I’m no sure what to expect. Same with the wee team but I think they’ll be mid table. I also don’t expect Arbroath to be as high but I don’t expect a huge drop off from them, they’ll still be a difficult team.

I think we’ve got a real chance of promotion however we either need to be just as strong at the back or score more goals.

I wouldn`t rule out ICT. They have been on a good run for quite a while, and we will find out this weekend exactly how sustained that form is. There have been several examples of teams winning Division One and carrying on that momentum to take the Championship title—Falkirk being the latest. ICT`s new owner, Alan Savage, seems to have done things right so far, but as a Dunfermline fan, it`s hard for me to see anyone but the Pars taking the title.

As long as we carry on the momentum we gained last season in the Scottish Cup and getting to the play-offs—and how close were we to beating Thistle? A careless goalkeeping error, that`s how close!

Neil Lennon is the man to take us to the Premier League. It is his destiny to do so... but we all know it has to be this season. He won`t stay around otherwise.

For me it looks a weaker league.

Morton look like they will struggle
Stenny part time you would think might struggle.
Not convinced by Arbroath recruitment they might struggle.
Ayr some lower league signings they might be decent and a confident manager.
Rovers they are 5th favourite according to coral and I wouldn`t disagree with that.
Livi and Partick should be strong.
Inverness hard to say they got humped of the Rovers in the challenge cup but they could have a decent season.

I don`t think the league has a real power house like killie,Saints or a Dundee Utd.

I`m reluctant to predict the Pars without knowing who else we sign.

It seems livi just know how to get out this league so have to think they’d be up there Patrick too. Stenny could also do an Arbroath and then nothing stopping Arbroath doing the same again raith as said could be up there they have the players that know the league

Only really teams we know about that look like they won’t challenge is Morton and queens

But you never know any team could start brilliantly then couple long term injuries could ruin their seasons

As of today there are 108 points to play for, 27 points in each quarter. How many points do we think is enough in each quarter to win the title ?

Probably will come down to who loses 4 or less games and not drawing more than 10.

Partick keeping stanway is massive, we were 15 points behind them last season so we have to try and keep pace in the initial stages of the season.

We’re looking good at the back, although Tod and the lad from United lack experience we’ve brought more in. We look solid in middle of park but there’s a drop off if amade or Gilmour get injured. Corbally looks good but will take time to come to terms with how physical this league is and we’ll need a lot more from Morrison to convince.

Upfront shaw looks a good signing to complement Kane and rudden and with Tod we at least have options to rotate.

Feels like we will be bette and hopefully more consistent this season. The mentality is slowly changing and the team isn’t as raw as last year.

Livi still the team to beat but they don’t have the quality at Johnstone had so it will be closer. Stenny might start well but fancy they will go down after running out of steam with Morton and queens fighting to the relegation playoff spot.

Lacking a wee bit of squad depth in certain areas (midfield and wide) but all in all we’re looking set up well.

I think ultimately the league structure needs to change where you have clubs in the championship who could argueably compete in the premiership. Falkirk case in point. Retaining the current league structure prevents these clubs from developing a pool of home grown talent. It is strangling the game and is a bottleneck to improvement. Given the likes of Rangers and Celtic have the opportunity to play in the champions league and the money they generate is probably much greater than income from domestic games; the ifinancial impact of an additional two clubs in the premiership may be minimal. Whilst the championship may be a challenge, those who run Scottish football is need to rise to the challenge of improving the game for the players, mamagers and supporters alike. These so called cooperation agreements to give younger players game time and a route to development are a bit of a red flag. They are a symptom not a cure for a failing league system.

"As long as we carry on the momentum we gained last season in the Scottish Cup and getting to the play-offs—and how close were we to beating Thistle? A careless goalkeeping error, that`s how close!"

That wouldn`t have decided the tie in our favour - either side could have gone on to win on aggregate.

A big issue we had towards the end of last season was our squad strength and depth. They were able to bring on Tony Watt, while we brought on a young lad who wasn`t even old enough to wear the club sponsor. It looks like we`ve addressed that to some extent ahead of this season.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.
