Is he intentionally stupid? Why on Earth has he come up to Livingston? It's clearly a stunt so he can advise people that the UK (so Scotland then?) have funded improvements to a facility in Livingston. Why, in the middle of a lockdown, does he think it will be popular to travel to West Lothian? He wasn't popular BEFORE lockdown.

The Charm Offensive has begun (offensive being the operative word). Westminster only takes an interest in Scotland when the natives get restless as evidenced by the opinion polls.

Maybe he was just testing his eye sight by travelling up there and back.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

The guy didn`t need Scotland to elect him in 2019, and he won`t need us to get re-elected in 2024.
This trip was only about photo opportunities and flag-waving. That will give his core voters a tingling sensation down below and keep them happy for a while longer.

Are voters really impressed by seeing their PM going round the country pretending to help workers in their daily tasks? I wonder how the workers feel about having their day interrupted, especially if they`re doing something really urgent and important like rolling out the vaccine process. All PMs seem to do it but Johnson more than most.

Unfortunately I think the answer to your question is yes.
Impressed might not be the right word, though. Maybe influenced is better.
Just seeing headlines of "British Vaccines!" and pictures of the funny man with the the funny hair on the same page is probably enough to sway many people.

Problem with these guys is they only show up during election times or when there's some grumblings. Rest of the time they sit on their backsides in Westminster. They really need to leave Westminster to be a museum and move parliament to Leeds or somewhere more central.

The UK has a significant number of voters who are broadly in line with the Americans who voted for Donald Trump. Nuff said, eck?
