Apparently her house was raided by fraud squad, regarding her buying/selling of unsuitable PPE, nice to see the BBC covering the story!🤔🤬🤬🤬

You can understand why she favours the Union and the financial opportunities it offers Scots.

I see she lives in the Isle of Man?

Didn’t realise such a strong supporter of the current situation, ie the union, has decided to live outside the UK!

She probably likes motorbike racing.
Or she is scared of cats with tails.
What other reason could she have for living there?

She doesn`t have to live in the UK to be a supporter of the union. Sir Sean didn`t live in Scotland but was campaigning for independence and Brian Cox lives in New York but also has a home in London yet is an snp member.

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

To be fair I put the winky face as I`m not entirely sure they would come back to an IS but there is a bit of a difference. My favourite economic migrant is Douglas Carswell.

Die hard Brexiteer now peddling right wing policies in Mississippi.

Sean Connery’s family were touring Scotland in a fleet of limos last week sprinkling his ashes at various sites.
Pity he didn’t sprinkle any of his taxes into the country he loved so much. As for for Cox he says the country he loves so much is too damp to live in...
Also Alan Cumming, another patriot in exile, he cummed for the festival and now he’s went!

Haha!😂

Not even close parboiled!

Michelle is part of the uk establishment, the uk being the current country and political settlement she preaches about being so good, the uk where she has a privileged position as a life peer where she plays a role in examining uk laws that those who lives in the uk will be subject to, the uk that gave her her patronage…
The uk that she promotes is best for everyone else

The folk you mention aren’t part of the uk establishment and whilst I’m sure they’d love to live in an independent Scotland… and for example, I think Aberfeldy to London west end or Broadway theatres every day is probably a bit too for to travel 🤣

That pair of faux Jocks would never live here, Independent or not.
It’s damp and the income tax they would be liable to is higher than England.
They haven’t got a vote anyway…

Are the Scots who live in England also `faux Jocks` (what an insulting expression)? It`s a small world and people can have all sorts of reasons for living where they choose to.

Story from 9/3/2003 (when Connery retired)

How many millions have you contributed in tax Parboiled? Might be an idea to start fact checking yourself.

“Connery, now 72, revealed his tax records to The Herald newspaper, Glasgow, in a bid to forestall criticism ahead of May elections when he is expected to be an active supporter of the independence-minded Scottish Nationalist Party (SNP).

He told the paper in an interview published on Thursday that he had paid $5.93 million in British tax since 1997.

"I`m an easy target because of my political opinions but I defy anyone in Scotland to find one detail where I knowingly ever did anything that was to the detriment of Scotland," Connery said. "It gets up my nose."

He said he also paid more than $4.49 million in UK taxes on three big films before 1997.

"I pay full tax wherever I am working," Connery said. "Since I`ve gone out of my way to bring film projects to the UK, instead of Hollywood, that`s meant I`ve paid full tax here." “

The Scottish International Education Trust exists to give financial help to Scots men and women who show exceptional ability and promise.
It’s at that critical time when they need to further their studies or professional training that a cash injection can make a huge difference to their development.

The Trust was the brainchild of Sir Sean Connery. Having had a scant education himself, Sean was well aware of the importance of learning and the empowerment it brings.

They`re likely to declare bankruptcy to avoid any tax and continue to lead the rich life.

A further 2 MP`s now being mentioned in dodgy PPE deals, being pursued by Good Law Project.

More revelations about sex offences by cabinet minister and aide.

Boris using taxpayers money to defend his "Partygate" statement to Westminster.

Meanwhile Pincher is still an MP.

If only we genuinely taxed every rich person and corporation properly. Goodbye cost of living crisis, goodbye greatest wage disparity in the G7... Never happen though

The super wealthy will always find a loop hole. What I never understand is people like Lewis Hamilton. Never poor, but an average kid who got rich. Now actively avoids paying tax that could help people similar to him at a younger age. Loads of them at it, and they`re just the tip of the iceberg.

I can almost guarantee few contractors pay all the tax they could.

Do you mean he moved to Monaco and spends 9 months of the year plying his trade all around the world?

If that’s what you mean then he’s pretty much every like other racing driver. I think most choose Monaco for a few reasons, tax is clearly one of them but the others are they are close to all the euro gps, etc….

but a big draw for famous people is that they can live a relatively normal life there as there are so many rich and famous gathered in a small, safe place …no hassle when going out, getting your messages or walking the kids to school

Hamilton is just an example of one working class kid done good who then goes on to deprive other working class kids by avoiding tax. There are plenty of them out there.

We don`t bother closing the loopholes as the worry is they simply move elsewhere.

Move away from individuals and look at business. How much are Amazon paying?

The way tax works is a farce.

Like the Sean Connery stuff earlier on, not sure if that’s 100% true about Hamilton.

He may not be giving Westminster half of what he earns abroad, but he’s defo helping under privileged with trusts and other opportunities

The rich have it easy these days, back in the Labour govt days of the sixties the Beatles were liable to over 90% tax on earnings.

They wrote a song about it!
