Couple of articles , one by the recently appointed Lord Frost on removing from Scotland many of the existing powers that the Scottish Parliament has, and another by Craig Murray on the management of the Parliament

The more powers the better, the bigger the mess, the greater the number of folk who would gladly see the ugliest building in our beautiful capital bulldozed.

That Lord Frost doesn`t seem to have his finger on the pulse. Even political lightweights like Murdo Fraser and Stephen Kerr are dismissing his thoughts as nonsense. And they know nonsense

You`d hope any threats to remove devolution in Scotland would be met with massive, appropriately escalating protests. I wish Brits were more like our French neighbors when the Government starts their usual BS

They`re dismissing it because Frost`s suggestions if persued removes many from the gravy train, in particular Fraser, who has served in the Scottish Parliament since last century on a list ticket never ever been voted on.

I`d rather have Independence than devolution, it`s really past the point where politicians should realise that.

As would I, but I`ll take current devolved powers over giving those back to England

Eck, we could have left the UK but voluntarily decided not to.
63% of the electorate said no or were so happy with the status quo they just sat on their bums.
Btw Indy polling dropping like a stone.

I agree the majority voted no, but you can`t claim those that didn`t vote are all on the side of union / status quo

If you are not happy with the status quo you need to say so. If not you are a tacit “status quoer” !

Not necessarily true, my oldest was abroad at the time in China studying and couldn`t vote... And there will be loads of similar scenarios on both sides

You can gauge the opinion of the whole electorate on a poll of 1,000 and when it comes to a referendum you can add in the votes of anyone who can`t be bothered turning up. That`s democracy for you.
All these commentators telling us how lucky we are to be part of the UK but none seem concerned that exit from it is in the hands of Westminster which will inevitably be controlled by a Unionist party.

I`m not sure how many times it needs stated - the SNP would not exist in an independent Scotland.

It would have been great having Labour and/or the Tories in charge of the Scottish Government.

It won`t matter whose in charge of the Scottish Government
It won`t change anything . It`s just a cash cow for everyone there.
That`s why it was set up originally. To kill independence done dead.

Anyone can be wise after the event. I read all these bloggers with a bit of scepticism because I think a lot of them have an axe to grind.
