So blatantly staged 😂 His acting was better in Home Alone 2. Gun shots sounded like cap gun shots

It did sound very strange, even for a sniper from distance……will only know if the “shooter” is named as the secret service on stage were heard saying “shooter down”

Yup, shooter reportedly climbed on a roof of a building outside the perimeter and shot from there and was taken out. Looks like a shot he fired has sadly killed a spectator in the stands of the rally.

Thoughts are with President Trump and his family and the person apparently killed by the evil perpetrator.

America must take a breath, dial down the rhetoric, especially from the media who are turning a presidential race into something it is not.

Wont end here……although Im shocked its taken 8 years for someone to have a shot at him. His rhetoric is vile in itself. Biden wont make it to the election either the sate of him.

We thought Britain was broken but at least our leaders look and act like they could lead (obviously not very well mind you) but the pair in America are an absolute shambles.

I have to admit it does seem incredibly odd that there were not officers of some description on the high points surrounding the rally to observe for this kind of thing - that`s pretty standard for presidential security.

I`m sure every former president is supposed to have some sort of lifelong security team as well, so this is quite a major embarrassment for them.

There is something about this that seems akin to the burning of the Reichstag.

Seems a bit staged to me. Reminded me a bit of Hulk Hogan seemingly defeated, going down and cutting himself, before rising, fist pumping, to the acclaim of the crowd.

Fortunately there was a photographer in the perfect place, also unfazed by the shooting, who was able to capture the image, and luckily the flag was perfectly positioned.

It`s going to become an iconic shot. That photo just won him the election

Shocking

I take it the person killed was behind him, as presumably the bullet that clipped his ear carried on into the crowd on the stage at his rear?

Just seen the clip… looked like shooter was on his right hand side (three o clock)

I know America is deeply divided, but hopefully this doesn’t escalate

The bullet clipped his ear, you can see him flick his ear as if in annoyance, like you would a wasp buzzing about.
If that was staged that is the most remarkable marksmanship since Davy Crockett

There isnt a marksman on earth who Trump would trust to clip his ear like that. There`s no way this was staged.

If I were to speculate I`d go with a drisgruntled supporter, possibly one of the few who paid attention to the contents of the recent Epstein papers release, but that`s 100% speculation on my part.

There were snipers behind Trump on a roof, but how they missed the guy getting on an opposite roof is staggering. They managed to shoot him once shots had rung out though. Think he was outside the perimeter of the rally though.

Agreed, but when I first heard the very skimpiest of detail about this (Trump shot, survived, very slight injury) my first thought was of a Johnny Cyclops publicity stunt style shooting.

With the state of US politics together with the amount and type of guns in circulation there it`s hardly a surprising turn of events.

An Antifa member who donated to act blue and registered as a Republican to vote for Nikki Haley in the Pennsylvania primary.

I`ve seen video of him saying he hated Republicans and Donald Trump.

I wonder if this will make the Republicans think twice about gun laws... probably not because they`re a bit thick as Trump has stated on a number of occasions! 🤔

Has anyone seen the film "Bob Roberts"?

It`s interesting that the initial thoughts of some people were that this was some sort of false flag operation.

Also, I wonder how many of the people who are (rightfully) condemning the assassination attempt are secretly wishing that it had been successful, although what fresh hell that would have unleashed I don`t know.

To answer HJ, I imagine that many people will argue that this means that because bad people have guns the good people should now have more, not fewer.

How you move from a situation where hundreds of millions of people (I would guess) own fire-arms and are happy with that, to a situation where maybe 5% of the people have one I don`t know.

I`ve just had a quick look at some stats - take Sweden for instance. Apparently there are 23 guns per 100 of the population. Perhaps a few people have loads, but there still seem to be a lot of firearms about. It ranks 22nd for gun ownership but 44th for gun related deaths. Which suggests that prevalence is one factor and presumably crime and affluence/poverty is another.

For comparison Scotland is 117th and 88th.

Guns are always an interesting one. Unless you`re a farmer, it`s unlikely anyone in Scotland needs a gun. However, in the US they know the bad guys have guns so the good guys need them too and sometimes the good guys can go bad too.

As much as I think Trump is a moron, I don`t wish him dead. He believes in his cause and, although he comes out with some very disgusting statements, I`d suggest we have far worse in this country in terms of politicians.

It`s always those who are against the globalists, the swamp, the establishment or the deep state and their wars that seem targeted for elimination. Reagan, Lincoln, JFK, RFK, Garfield.

The Democratic Party is the manifestation of that in the USA, the Party of slavery, the Confederacy, the KKK, Jim Crowe.

Reagan eventually brought about the end of the cold war, Lincoln the end of slavery, JFK`s civil rights bill passed by the Republicans against the Dixiecrats wishes and the hope RFK offered with his run.

We have went from the Abrahamic peace accords under President Trump that promised peace in the middle east to the brink of WWIII under Biden.

Blessed are the peacemakers, the architect has not finished with Trump, he has more work to do.

Stolen elections have consequences and the crooked 2020 election has had terrible consequences for the world.

Yes, the 2020 election was stolen, and it did have terrible consequences for the world, but not in the way you describe it, BP.

The theft took place when Biden stole Bernie Sanders`s Democratic candidacy. How different would the world look today had he been elected US president?

If only Sanders had called himself a social democrat and not a democratic socialist—"socialist" is such a swear word in America, and the Democratic hierarchy made damn sure he was defeated in the primaries.

I didn`t actually describe how it was stolen, but yes the Democratic nomination was fixed to allow Biden to win. In an honest run-off I think Saunders would have been the winner.

I`m not convinced Saunders would have beaten Trump no matter what Bernie called himself, but it would have been interesting to watch.

Bernie being pro-war and a champagne socialist I think means if he won we`d be pretty much where we are now with wars, high inflation, open borders and indoctrination in schools.

His big chance was in 2016, but he acquiesced to crooked Hillary and his chance was gone.

Yes, I have some sympathy for your points, too, BP. I agree that 2016 was the greater theft. Bernie came out against the Palestinians early doors, but I note that he has since turned that around and is quite loud in his opposition to war and Israel now. But it is all a bit late in the day.

A champagne socialist? I don`t know. Socialism in America is hard to define, but it is nowhere near how it would be represented in Britain or Australia. Perhaps something mildly left of centre is as radical as Bernie would have been in practice as president. But we will never know.

Must have been a hell of a fright for him whatever it was. You could see he was clearly in shock even a week later.
