According to the latest opinion poll the SNP are predicted to get 61 seats and the greens 10. That is an independence majority so he is quite right to put options out there.

It`s all about party before country...assume you`re on the payroll?

Why has the SNP gone from 56 to 9 mps in 10 years ?

Another 5 years of inaction if these two take control of the Scottish Parliament.

I`m putting country before Party.

Unfortunately, the SNP are devolutionist and are really just indy fearties, they`ll end up in coalition with an unionist party rather than vote another Independence candidate on the list. All pals together.

Suppose you`ll be voting English Labour in Scotland like the 2024 election?

What changed?

"might even do some leafletting for DB...the more seats the lovely SNP wins in the constituency list the greater the chances that a different independence candidate has of getting in on the list."

Is Hanvey still going to be an Alba candidate? And why has the Crossgates Centre gone a bit anti-trans of late?

Nobody can answer the obvious question.
If the PM keeps saying no(as he or she will), how are we going to get a referendum?

The only reason we got one in 2014 was because the odds were stacked against independence.

The SNP really have no choice but to try win each election with support otherwise there isn’t a case for a referendum anyway.

What changed ? Nothings changed that`s the problem.
If the SNP stuck to the constituency vote and left the list vote to other independence minded candidates we`d probably get over 70 independence MSPs, but no, they want to stand on the list ticket and the max they`ll get is 2 further MSPs.
Now, if they were solely interested in independence they wouldn`t contest the list opinion, but unfortunately, they`d rather put party before country .

They`ll probably end up in coalition with the yoon party you support.

And before any yoons or SNP members on the payroll say that`s gaming the system, remember every time we vote in the general election it`s well and truly gamed with England getting more MPs than Scotland, Wales and NI put together.

Thought that our voting system was always going to give a unionist bias, proved by the number of MSP`S that couldn`t win a 2 ticket raffle, yet sit in Holyrood taking the money!

Well not really. The more independence parties that there are, the bigger chance of a majority.

It was only a month ago, Tenruh! I asked you then why you were suddenly supporting "nuSNP".

I am happy to vote for the Independence party which is the strongest on the constituency list, that obviously is the SNP, although personally I don`t think on their own they`d push for independence. On the list / second opinion I`d vote for the strongest independance candidate other than the SNP,

1, More independence candidates in Holyrood can apply pressure on the SNP to fight for independence.

2, Last time around the SNP got million + list votes which were wasted as they only got 2 list MSPs, whereas voting for another independence candidate would guarantee a minimum of 25 more Indy MSPs therefore 25 less Unionist MSPs. The likeliest Beneficiary being Reform UK 🇬🇧

So is Kate Forbes putting family before country (and party)?? Good luck to her -it`s a shame that it appears that young highland mothers are practically excluded from the national parliament.

And before any yoons or SNP members on the payroll say that`s gaming the system, remember every time we vote in the general election it`s well and truly gamed with England getting more MPs than Scotland, Wales and NI put together.

Doesn`t England have more MPs because it has vastly more electors?

I`m not sure the argument "we`ve fiddled the system to create an artificial pro-indy majority unrepresentative of the underlying support, please trust us with a referendum" is that persuasive.

And that`s the issue. Westminster will always put England first. Actually, that`s not quite true. Westminster will always put London first. If people in Scotland feel hard done by try living in North East England.

Sorry, what`s the issue? Kate Forbes is quitting because of Westminster?

How many MPs does London have? 75? About half as many as in the North of England?

No, nothing to do with Forbes. Good for her wanting to spend more time with family.

The issue related to England having more MPs.

Prior to the formation of the union, we were told it would be "A union of equals." Therefore, there should have been a system to make it work ? That number happened, nothing changed whatsoever for England same Parliament same procedures. Just through in a few more seats and throughout equality for the Scots.
