She`s not changed her name again has she??
So what happens to the Alba Party now?
I haven`t followed them that closely but it seems that they never really developed from a party conceived to satisfy Alex Salmond`s ego that attracted nationalists that the SNP were quite happy to see go, mainly because they disagreed with the leadership on the approach to independence or on the gender identity issue.
What is the different direction in which Alba is moving that Ash cites as the reason for her quitting?

She wants to be fully focused on getting a bill up in Parliament that will criminalise people seeking to buy sex. Sounds like a good idea to be fair, but I also read an article on the BBC with interviews with female workers in that industry who said it may push things further underground and make things even less safe for them, plus make it harder for them to get work I suppose.

She could have focussed on the bill within Alba. Not being funny but she`s the only Alba MSP so no-one can argue with her.

Was that a key part of her campaign?
Or has she decided to use her power to push her own agenda, as opposed to represent those who voted for what she promised to do?

She said she wanted to improve the lives of women and children (not the trans ones) so this is in line with that.

I as someone with a daughter, If someone said to me they want to improve the lives of women, I’d naturally assume the focus would be on education, opportunity, child poverty, ‘cultural’ concerns within some communities, rights in the workplace, rights over their own bodies, laws preventing forced marriage, free sanitary requirements, safe spaces, stopping trafficking, tackling domestic abuse and providing support for those escaping, stronger laws relating to stalking, drinks spiking , revenge porn etc, investing in education on consent, and many other things before of assume she meant stopping two consenting adults - in fact if you mentioned prostitution I’d probably assume she would want safe spaces as opposed to pushing it back into more dangerous territory

How many parties is that for Hugh now? He makes Tasmina look like a model of consistency.

Hugh is apparently claiming eight. Maybe he’s counting the Independent Labour Network.
Perhaps I am doing him a disservice - he may well argue that he’s the consistent one and he has been let down by parties changing their views or by leaders without the ability or vision to take him where he wants to be. But it’s a lot easier to refuse to compromise when you’ve plenty money in the bank and don’t need electoral approval.
It does further suggest that the party’s over for Alba.

Nah. The simple answer is he’s power hungry and damn any political principles he claims to have.
I don’t trust a single politician that changes more than two parties.

Quickly hidden by Brit media, what do you expect?
Sarwar being doorstepped?

Scroll down and it`s still there despite being two days old now. Hardly hidden.
It`s also not exactly scandal of the day. "Friends with" is bad but not up there with some of the recent scandals involving dirty texts to minors and "check the hard drive" investigations.

Today`s news is tomorrow`s fish and chip paper. Or it used to be - not sure what the digital equivalent is.
The news cycle is much shorter new, and there are many more stories. So something may be the big story for a bit, then there`s soon something new to knock it off the top spot.
Of course, all the parties will try to manipulate this to their advantage. the media will try to resist but many are driven by the need for sales or clicks. The big story in Scottish Politics now is Lord Offord`s defection. Reform will have chosen the Saturday to make the announcement as nothing else was happening. It will be almost forgotten by tomorrow.
Whether the PDG story climbs the charts again when Holyrood gets back to work is open to question - that may depend on what else happens, and how well-regarded she is.
But just because you think your story is the most important doesn`t mean that your view will be shared - judgement will be employed and editorial guidelines will be followed.

She wouldn`t have been re-elected anyway. She got in as a list MSP.
Although I wholly disagree with who she keeps company with she is someone who would fight for you.

I`m not sure if this is a wind-up, but I was aware of this story - no-one told me about it so I must have discovered it in the MSM.
I`ve just checked - it`s yesterday`s news, but still number 2 story on BBC Scotland politics. It`s been covered by STV, the Scotsman, the Herald, the Record and the Sun. LBC have mentioned it. I haven`t checked the Oban Times (but it`s not out yet this week).
Holyrood is shut, which will be why Politics is taking a back seat. There must be something else happening. But I note the Glen Rosa has been delayed again. To be fair, that`s not news. When it sails, that will be news. And there`s the weird story about the SNP bugging their own MSPs. Presumably other stories will be going out with the trash.
