 Sovereignty

It`s curious how so many UK politicians are concerned about the sovereignty of foreign lands like Ukraine, Palestine, Greenland, but those of a Unionist disposition are strangely reticent when asked about the democratic route for Scotland to detach itself from the voluntary union with England if its electorate so wishes.

Agree on the points above. In all honesty though, does anyone really expect those of an Imperialist persuasion, such as the English or Russians, to have a proper ability to reflect on their positions and statements?

I had a quite interesting encounter with a Russian guy in Tokyo the other week who basically made the statement to me that "the Baltic States are a joke" and was pretty insisting on calling me British. He certainly reflected a bit when I told him that I was both Scottish and Swedish and that the former existed since 843, while his own Russia only existed since the mid 1500s. On that basis, I asked him who he thought "Russia was to judge the ancient people`s of Europe, when Russia is a relatively new country and consists of nearly 200 ethnicities who are not Russian.". The answer was basically that Russia "protects these people"...reminds me a lot of how the English like to say they`re helping Scotland by supposedly subsiding the country.

Another example of this is CCP China who are using the "Belt & Road" initiative to debt trap other countries while giving them dodgy infrastructure...Chinese built "happy with Crappy" quality buildings falling down in Thailand along with cranes collapsing twice in quick succession succession on the rail works in the last week or two...the complete destruction of ecosystems in places like Zambia for their mining activities... honestly, absolutely horrendous stuff but they truly believe they can get away with it.

Also just watched Trump`s "speech"... honestly painful stuff from an absolutely senile git..funny how he doesn`t want to mention that the last acquisition of territory from Denmark was the Danish West Indies which are now part of the US Virgin Islands...one of those Islands became Epstein island! 😂

But aye, there is a massive degree of hypocrisy from certain camps.on the Greenland Issue. Have to admit, if I were the Danes, I`d offer the Greenlanders a referendum on joining the US. The result of that would be a sheer embarrassment to Trump, although his mental state might not permit him to care.

If it wasn`t for France they`d be speaking English in America now.

If it wasn’t for British banks, half of America would be French and speaking French…

Trump rolls back tariff threats already - it was an exciting few days while a mentally unwell man shook his fist at the sun and mumbled threats to the world

Greenland for the Greenlanders.

The people of Greenland must free themselves from the Danish imperialist yoke.

Reparations must be paid for the inhuman treatment by their Danish colonial overlords like forced sterilization which was taking place even up to the 1990`s.

The last remnants of Viking colonialism from the Global north east must end and the Greenlanders take their place amongst the great nations of the world.

So Bletchley, why then are you supporting anything other than Greenland Independence?

On that point, it will very likely happen in the coming years anyway and it would be very likely that an Independent Greenland would continue in the EU and NATO.

Thing is....Greenland left the EU in 1985, they were "first over the wall" so to speak.

Do you no remember "The only other country to leave the EU was Greenland!" and then the remainers would slag them all off, the same folk chimping out about Trump now.

Go on then, say you knew they had left the EU an blah blah blah.

Pretty forward thinking stuff by Greenland to leave the EU in 1985 when the EU was established on 1 November 1993 with the Maastricht Treaty

They did leave the EEC but the EEC was a shared market whereas the EU is a shared system of laws, policies, and institutions. Greenland left the EEC, (not the EU) because their dispute was mainly about fishing and trade. However polling in 2025 has 60% of Greenlanders favouring joining the EU although latest leaders are not seeking this at the moment as they are classed as an overseas country or territory linked to the EU via Denmark so their goods enter the EU tariff free or with preferential access.

It’s almost like you don’t know what you’re talking about Bletchley and are just parroting ill informed speaking notes from political sources renowned for exploiting dafties who fact check nothing 🤷🏻‍♂️
