Burnham proposing taxing 10% of your estate when you die. Not a terrible idea but seems like another one where the wealthy will transfer their ownership into a trust or another family member to avoid it while those at the lower end of the income scale will take the hit.
Why are we waiting for a person to die before taxing them to pay for social care? Why aren`t we looking at the money made from the taxpayer by private care providers? We know care workers are underpaid and overworked so what are we doing to help?
Personally if it was up to me, ALL money and assets should be taken by the state and then used to help pay for the NHS. Inheritance should just be scrapped, everyone should have to make their own way in the world
