Over the summer Reform MP Sarah Pochin raised concerns and asked a parliamentary question about the impact second home ownership has and is having on rural and coastal communities. Turns out shortly after raising this issue she then went and bought a second home in Anglesey for a mere 800k.
Reform eh? Always looking out for the interests of the left behinds of whom they have so much in common with.

This seems to me to be yet another example of the problem with our politicians, regardless of party; a lack of judgement. Like the Labour cabinet taking all sorts of perks when they came to power, or Michael Matheson allowing his sons to watch an OF match on his work computer when on holiday, or BoJo`s Tories partying during Covid, did she not foresee the potential consequences of her actions? Or did she somehow feel she was exempt from normal expectations of behaviour?
If politicians show such lack of judgement in their private lives how can the electorate trust them to show good judgement in their public lives?

This wasn`t a lack of judgement Wee Eck. Nobody invests 800k without doing their homework. There is money to be made and that is the first and only priority for these characters. You think Farage didn`t know that it would be a bad look to accept a £5 million gift from a foreign based crypto billionaire? He knew but he decided enough idiots would still support him and the money is what it`s all about anyway.

It`s a lack of judgement if you have serious aspirations as a politician in my opinion, whatever the short-term benefits. Angela Rayner also showed it with her casual attitude to her tax affairs.

I agree Eck. Irrelevant of their party, there seems to be a huge amount of rules for thee but not for me. A lot of hypocrisy and a lot of saying what they think people want to hear.
I suspect it’s always been that way but with the internet and how freely information is shared, the political class are being caught with their pants down constantly.
