Just spoke with the son in law, he`s
a successful businessman with a portfolio of rental homes.
He`s just shown me the latest offer he received from Mears to supply accommodation for "New Scots".
Mears are offering 5 × the normal rent on a 5 year contract and they`ll pick up any repair bills, and they`ll be making their money too.
Out of the hotels and into a street near you, and your taxes are paying for it.
Meanwhile we`re told to stock up on food ,water and expect to be drafted to fight for a flag deemed racist and divisive, the clown show is really going to town.
I don`t wanna go down like disco.

Tell your son in law to get that contract signed and hoover up that money! Once Mears shareholders find out that they are offering 5 x the going rate for properties they`ll soon be firing some agents. Mears contract with the government has a profit cap and they`ve already had to return millions for breaching that cap. That`s their lookout though but I am concerned that the government is spending way more than they need to here, I mean I`m sure your son in law would have been delighted with even 2x the going rate. If you can supply more proof I`ll definitely be writing to my local MP (not MSP as I`m pretty sure this is a Westminster scheme but I`d verify) about this matter.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Yes I would agree. As a taxpayer for 50 years that does not appear to be offering value for money.

Why would shareholders worry, our government is reimbursing them with profit.
I`ve got an empty property just now, i may make enquiries to see if his claim is valid, i don`t think he`d lie as he doesn`t need the money.

That`s the entrepreneurial spirit!
I`ll just leave your previous quote here....(it`s yours if you can`t remember)
"There`s no left or right anymore when it comes to politicians, There`s just the snout and the trough."
Oh....and why should shareholders care is answered by the profit cap point.

The shareholders wouldn`t be happy because they`d make more money by not paying as much as they seemingly are to acquire these properties. While I don`t agree with you on much DW i share your outrage on this. It`s very easy to contact your local MP (email obviously being the simplest way but a written letter is also an option) and it would at least force them to acknowledge this issue and make enquiries. That said I imagine it won`t be long till the press get a hold of this.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Make enquiries doesn’t mean taking it up, you understand that, right?
It`s well documented i`m selling up and getting out of here.
