Bramble Bar and Restaurant in Queen Street.
Maybe the Hootsman will pick up the story, it is in their back yard after all!

I think someone I know had a leaving do in Bramble and I don't remember it being that fantastic but they're not my usual drinking haunts.

<<Not for me, though. The only connection with hipster I have is the low cut flared breeks I wore with the floral shirt and platform heels long long ago...>>
Indeed Mario. Those jeans that hung round our hips were an abomination. I had a few floral shirts, but I preferred the dyed simmets. Waaaay more cool... and cheap.
As for cocktail bars... never dreamt of such a thing! No wonder this generation can't afford to buy a house if they p*** their money on 20 quid cocktails so they can show off on Instagram.

Buffs, your Mither no doobt has fond memories of the Ballroom and the Belleville, where the Red Hawks and Shaddettes (later to be Nazereth) churned out covers of the hits of the day, everything from the Beatles to Byrds, Turtles to Tamla. Hard work for them to keep pace, but the jiggers expected it
Fond memories, and sad to see them as they are now.
For a taste of the fashions of the day, old TOTP are always on the telly. I think Dumfy was about 6 months behind Carnaby St though!

Wouldn't say Bramble was a good place for a drink. Nothing wrong with it but not best in the country. I wouldn't even say it was the best place in Edinburgh! No doubt the competition is heavily supported by the companies that own these bars.
