I've been looking to update the ParsTV laptop (cpunbenchmark of 3,300)

need something better to handle stream and also instant replays.
best I can come up with is a Dell 6 core beast !

https://www.dell.com/en-uk/work/shop/cty/pdp/spd/vostro-15-7580-laptop/n301vn7580emea01_1901

£800 + VAT
cpubenchmark of 12,516.

only has 8GB RAM but should do an upgrade to 16GB
128GB SSD and 1TB HD

any advice ?
thanks

One thing I would say is in future I'll avoid these 'hybrids' that contain ssd and HD. I had no end of issues with my laptop due to this before switching it to full SSD. It's been a game changer, I was ready to throw it out and get a new laptop, but it runs like an absolute beast now.

Might be worth keeping an eye on Dell outlet. I've bought several machines from them, always been pleased.

Link below is a similar model number but different number of cores. 512gb ssd. 16gb ram.

It was mainly around the OS, from new the laptop would take up words of 5 minutes to load from switching it on. When I finally switched it to ssd I could be surfing the Internet within 30 seconds of switching it on. I may of just been really unlucky and it's soured my opinion a bit.

I agree Ssd's are still crazy expensive though, so the compromise may be the way to go :)
