Identity politics well and truly skewered by Mr Pie. I wish I could articulate my opinions as well as this fella. He is an extraordinarily astute observer of modern life.

Just another puppet singing the right song, letting his "targets" off the hook.
He uses the word incompetence for deliberate policies and actions.... stupidity to write off the actions of May et al when really...they haven't been stupid...they know what they are doing, they're certainly getting rich from all their incompetence and stupidity.
Every time there is a nightmare administration there is a comedian who rises to fame off their "stupidity" and "incompetence".

Rainbow cups, lanyards, flags etc etc is just the new LiveStrong wrist band. Remember them? Remember when we cured cancer? Oh...
Agree that all of this is just a distraction from the real issues though.

I think it's more he's very cleverly letting people read between the lines by interjecting humour to get a wider audience.
Whether they choose to do so is up to them but I'm a fan.
It's really not a point whether I agree with all his views, more that he asks people to question more.
I would have thought this would appeal to you to be honest.

It suits his targets to be thought of as "incompetent" rather than the thieving manipulative orchestrated criminals they are...so no...not a fan...he's just like Michael Moore letting Bush off for being "stupid"......aye...stupid to the tune of billions.
So no....not a fan of the false rant shtick.

They are all at it. Even the so called socialists. The Benns and Galloways were or are multi millionaires. Telling the gullible what they want to hear while pedalling easy answers and getting rich off the back of it.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

It is interesting to see that some folk have pretty anti-views on JP. This is hardly surprising as the best satirists over the years have always polarised opinions.
In the '60s, David Frost and That Was The Week That Was did more damage to the PM Harold McMillan than the Profumo Affair; they did the same to Harold Wilson. In the '80s, Ben Elton, Alexei Sale and Spitting Image slaughtered Maggie Thatcher. Today, we have Jonathan Pie and thank goodness we do.
Satire, when it is original, can be a really effective political tool. Funnily enough, I find it hard to recall a prominent satirist during the Blair period; presumably, they were all drinking Cool Britannia cocktails at No.10. When the satirists aren't around, that's when countries find themselves in wars their people don't want.
To be fair, Armando Iannucci made a fair go of it, but that was largely after Blair had left office. Thankfully, Private Eye magazine has been there throughout trying to keep the b*stards honest.
