Time was that the richest people on the planet were the owners of manufacturing industries, the traders, the shipping magnates, the miners. They weren't all good guys; for sure many exploited their workers, but they opened up and brought progress to the world and largely they achieved that wealth under their own steam.
Today, irritating teens, whose questionable claim to fame is that they are related to a particularly ugly loudmouth with a very large bum, can, with the help of endless PR, earn unimaginable fortunes.
What a muddle we are in!
