Vets in Dunfermline / Pet Insurance
Topic Originator: preston par

Looking for recommendations for a vet in Dunfermline for a puppy my daughter will be getting in the next few weeks. She'll come with her first two vaccinations but she's looking to get her registered as soon as she gets her.

Cheers in advance.

inglis in cowdenbeath. little cheaper than most and takes a bit longer as they are students who then have checks validated by a vet. Great with our old dog who recently got put down and also amazing with our new puppy.

Depends what kind of cover you want.

Compare the market for options and costs

I think the one in hospital hill is just a rehabilitation place
doesn't mean they shouldn't be helpful though make sure you get liftime cover and check the small print as to how much will be payed out operations can run into thousands

Definitely definitely get pet insurance but the policies vary so much I think it will be hard to recommend someone. As noted above you have to shop around for what's best for you.

It's extremely boring and a bit of an obvious statement but read the small print so you know about any excesses or exclusions. My girlfriend had to put her cat in over night at her vets and the bill was pretty big for a couple of nights and although the insurance covered it, on top of the excess that she knew about, there was an additional excess because the cat was older that she didn't know about. Small clauses like that are easy to miss.

Might also be worth doing some research on the dog breed your going for. Some breeds are susceptible to specific health issues and it can sometimes be worth paying a bit more if the dogs got a higher risk of an ailment that's expensive to treat.

I'm late to this thread Preston par but have a look at "Bought By Many" It is an interesting concept.

I have been with them since July 2017 and my premium is unchanged.

Bertiesback, mentioned this to her over the weekend and I'm nearly certain she is going to go with your recommendation so hats off to you sir! No idea which option she is going for but she said they've got a few lifetime cover options for a very reasonable prices compared to PetPlan etc
