 Parking on the pavement

What's the deal with this new legislation? Has it come Into force yet?
Intrigued as to whether there's going to be local concessions available.
My streets simply not wide enough for everyone to park on the road.
(this would have an impact on the emergency services also).
I understand why pedestrians need the pavement.. But a blanket ban isn't always practical surely?

Not sure when this legislation comes into force but I’d imagine if cars are blocking pedestrian access, including wheelchairs while parked on the pavement and would block emergency vehicles if parked on the road then there will probably be double lines put in place. Cars will need to be parked elsewhere.

Nothing a heavy hammer blow through the offender's windscreen wouldn't fix...

A few flaws there... Not everyone walks about with hammers on their person.
And that's criminal damage as far as I'm aware.
Still... Gets the message across no doubt 🤣

Very good Widtink. I had a wee chuckle at that
I think many kids in those days thought he was a walloper anyway without the mallet

What's the difference between a hammer and a mallet?

Noone should be parked on the pavement. Used to drive me demented when the wee ones were in the pram and you'd be forced onto the road by eejits parked on the pavement. The temptation was always there "accidentally" squeeze past and scuff the car.

Far worse for people in wheelchairs! If it means you can't park outside your house then that's unfortunately tough.

Aye, a wee car key down the side should sort out the issue

Couldn't endorse that. Someone once told me they left a note on a car saying something like "Sorry, I accidentally scratched your car trying to get past.". They hadn't but would be sure to give the driver a wee fright!
