 El Camino

Just watched the movie follow-up to Breaking Bad - El Camino - on Netflix.

Very much in the style of the original with one or two little surprises and a very satisfying end.

Fans of the show are unlikely to be disappointed.

Not disappointed at all. A worthy epilogue to a great show.

Sadly Robert Forster who had a role in Breaking Bad and this new film died yesterday. Many will know him from his turn as the bail bondsman in Jackie Brown.

Have to say i was really disappointed. Maybe too long a gap between binge watching the series and seeing this....

It was a nice reminder of what made Breaking Bad special but it felt like a single episode that had been drawn out into a film. It should have just been a standalone episode lasting 40 minutes.

I would agree with Jake. It could have been a lot shorter, but as a footnote to the main piece, it held up okay. What is it? Six or seven years since Breaking Bad finished? It must be very difficult for actors who have moved on to slip back into character in the same way that they would have done going from season to season, and at times it showed. That said, I think the cinematography was spot-on and compensated pretty well for the lack of pace in the storyline.

Fair to say some of the cast have enjoyed the pies since the end of Breaking Bad...

Yep. It felt like two episodes joined together setting the scene for a series that's never going to be made. Ok in the context of the franchise but actually pretty mediocre as a stand alone film.
