 The Stranglers
Topic Originator: OzPar

My son has got tickets for him and me to go and see The Stranglers at the Forum in Melbourne on the 7th February. The last time I saw the band was in Colchester in 1981. I went with my late wife who was heavily pregnant with my son at the time. It's funny how life sometimes goes round in circles.

:)

Has anyone seen The Stranglers in recent years? It is hard to imagine the band without Hugh Cornwell on vocals, but I am pleased to see that Burnel and Greenfeld are still in the lineup.

Yeah man I've seen them recently, obviously you can't beat the original line up however snobby claims this in some way a tribute act are wide of the mark imo, still think they put on a decent show and the quality of the back catalogue can't be questioned.
Hope you enjoy fella...

Defo an argument for that, Cornwall's vocals were certainly not getting stronger with time...

They were excellent as support act for Alice Cooper in Aberdeen.

Crikey, Alice Cooper...

Arguably, the only rock star who actually looks better today than he did in the Seventies.

He looks pretty good for his age. Great show and Nita Strauss on guitar was an added bonus. 😁

I was at that too, great show! All the band members were excellent, including Nita. They all had tremendous skill and great stage presence. Stranglers were pretty decent too

Great fun. I was in the front row standing at the barrier. Fantastic view. Great concert.

Seen them more times than I can remember.

Always a good night out - Baz gave them back that edge that was missing in previous lineups post Hugh - IMO.
