Everybody makes mistakes.
It shows intelligence and character to admit to making one.
When someone is unable to admit they’ve made a mistake it suggests they’re too worried about self-image and the possibility of losing face.
Being able to admit to mistakes is actually quite satisfying. It is doing right when you're wrong.
These articles don't cover everything but give some useful insights (and may help to clarify what some folk already know.)

My opinion....Be kind. If you disagree, you disagree. There's zero point starting multiple threads and encouraging a pile on. Life is way too short.
But that's just my opinion.
Hope you're still getting out and enjoying nature. The weather has curtailed my walking but I'm hoping that'll change soon.

I made a mistake once.
I thought I was wrong about something but turned out I was right enough.

I have this idea I should speak up when I read something that's bad for society !

My old journeyman joiner used to say "I made a mistake once. In 1967 I cut a piece of wood too long".

Too long is not a problem - it's when you cut short............................

Measure twice, cut once.

I'm currently in a situation where I was told my approach was wrong. Turns out it wasn't wrong, it was spot on. But now I'm highlighting something that IS wrong but I'm being told it's not. Now escalated to the point where everyone is clear it's wrong but 2 people on the project refuse to accept it's wrong as it'll result in egg on their face. If it was me it would be a red face but acceptance that it's better to resolve something now rather than later. This pair aren't going to let it go. So tomorrow I have to push the issue in front of management. I'm not a fan of showing people up but that's how it's going to end up.

You are facing an interesting dilemma, Jake, but not an uncommon one. Stick to your guns and be honest and open. Ultimately, everyone benefits; even those with red faces.

Said our bit. Got some agreement but not what we were wanting. The benefit is it's been said so we can't be held accountable when the inevitable happens.
