Just heard the original ones had laudanum cannabis and chloroform in them. Ooo'er!
I completely forgot about them. Ate them like sweeties in the 70s.

I too ate victory v's like sweeties in the mid 90s... Unfortunately they bung me up something terrible so I had to kick them into touch.

Always remember the tough packets.Had a strong liquorice taste. Burned your tongue, but very addictive. They had a very odd shape.Ah memories. 😀

Excellent Busspass. 😀
Her name was Dory.
I'd have given her my Sole but she didn't like my Mullet.

I suppose it's wearing a bit fin now. What's this thread aboot onyway? O aye Victory Vs. That reminded me o' they tiny wee fiery licquorice squares - were they called 'Imps' ?
'Trebor mints' as well - used tae eat a lot o' them, I liked them better than Polos.
I never eat sweets now but how delicious were some o'these:
Treets! Bar Six! Golden Cup was absolute heaven.

My grandfather used to love eating Oddfellows. I never worked out what their taste came from, but it certainly was pretty unusual. Maybe they too had interesting chemicals in them.
