A relative of mine and his wife were booked to fly to Italy tomorrow, for urgent family reasons. His flight has been cancelled. He has applied for a refund but has been informed that the 2 suitcases he added separately this afternoon, after the original booking, at a total cost of £160 is non refundable. He used PayPal. Can he block the payment or is it instantaneous?
What a horrible company.

Surely that can`t be right? I guess if it says in the small print it is non refundable then that will be their get out.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Presumably Ryanair are still going to fly the suitcases out? Aye right. They’re not providing a service they’ve been payed to do and should refund without hesitation.

Did he book credit card?
Think they can sort that sort of nonsense out... and hopefully lesson learned, never use Ryanair!

Thanks for the help and advice, guys. Have passed this on to my relative. In his defence, he only booked with Ryanair as there was no alternative and he'd only found out earlier in the day that his elderly mother is seriously ill and may not have long left. There was some kind of mix up and the person who made the booking failed to include the checked baggage at the time and it had to be added separately.
