Wasn`t there a thread about the Cabinet on here this afternoon? OK, maybe it should have been on the Politics Forum but it`s not there either.

We cannot move threads at the moment.
If you want a cabinet minister thread then the politics forum would be the place for it

I am not a child , no more than Wee Eck is, one of or most measured and reliable commentators on this site.
A topic was removed without explanation and it may refer to something I myself wrote. but btw I but merely commented on her background in addition to her pollical decisions. Accurately I am pretty sure.
So why has the entire site been removed? I Priti Patel a sacred cow?

Then why not transfer it to the Politics Forum? We were told on another thread it wasn`t possible to delete threads yet this one has disappeared. Why does Admin feel it doesn`t need to explain its actions?

No, on another thread I said we can't transfer threads at the moment.
We can't close threads either.

Let's not make a drama out of this.
Normally a post in the wrong forum would be transferred... But we can't do that at the moment... So it gets deleted.
Work with us... Put your thread in the correct forum until the glitch is sorted.

If there`s a drama it`s of Admin`s making, deleting a thread without any notification or prior warning. I suspect it`s lost its momentum and won`t be reinstated.

Correct, Wee Eck.
Let`s just have an off topic forum for everything else. Other forums hardly get any traffic

Which at the time was a good move as there were loads of threads but it's not like there are loads now and deleting threads just because the odd one ends up in the wrong forum feels like an ott response mate.

That's not why it was given its own forum.
It got its own forum because during the independence referendum almost every post was political anything else was being lost in the noise.
A political forum was created not for those not interested but because of the huge political event that was happening having an adverse effect on the off topic forum.
I'm pretty sure when it was done it was said it would revert back to how it was. I'm not asking for that to happen as I think its fine as it is.

There have been some genuinely dodgy practices on the admin team of this site in the past (especially that phase were admin would edit people's posts without any indication that they had done so) but I had hoped that those days were behind us.
There are all sorts of legal implications to doing stuff like that and the site is opening itself up to being held responsible for other people's posts as it is verging on being legally definable as an edited/curated publication rather than a public forum where contributors are responsible for their own posts.

In the time people have spent moaning about it, another post could have been added on the Politics forum...
Don't think it should have been deleted without a note to say to continue on the Politics forum but it's done now.

Your living in the past... It's a completely different admin team from back then.
Your second paragraph tells me you haven't read the rules... Or maybe you've just forgotten them.
For info...
By posting a message you agree that it may be deleted or amended by admin, at any time, for any reason. Please do not get into a flame war with admin regarding this issue on the Forums, it will likely lead to a yellow or red card. The reason, in my view, why the dark days of the past were allowed to become what they were was the way in which an "us and them" mentality was allowed to fester which resulted in admin taking it upon themselves to act in an ever more punitive and authoritarian manner in an effort to contain the ire which people felt when they were told how things were going to be in what is, at least on the surface, supposed to be a community.
People don`t like to feel isolated from the important decisions which impact their communities.

I cant comment as I wasn't part of the admin team back then.
Hey when the admin functions that are currently not working are resolved we will go back to moving threads... But for now if its posted in the wrong forum then it's history.
There's no punitive or authoritarian measures being taken here by any of the admin team . We're just following the rules using the limited tools we have at the moment.
We could have quite easily removed this whole thread too if we were being heavy handed... But it was left here to sort it out (although technically it should be in the admin forum).
So until the techy guys sort out the admin tools please just work with us and this won't happen again.
And we'll aw be happy bunnies again.... Until we get beat I suppose 🤣
Regards
Widders

It has already been established that in general ( We did have a vote on it if you recall) folk don't want politics in the off topic forum.
As I've already said... We're only following the rules.

This must be one of the few forums left in existence that doesn’t want extra traffic on posts.
The reason the graveyard politics forum came into being was the independence referendum of 7 years ago and rather than just scroll down and ignore obvious political posts, people whinged.
The admins then and now are a law unto themselves and give no logic to their decision making.
Bizarre behaviour they don’t encourage people to engage and comment.
I’d also echo an earlier comment that it was promised the political forum would end after indyref 2014 and return to off topic where it should remain IMO
