Black bin bags were for snobby gits - what's wrong with your parka?

Cheers.

Feel like this thread quickly descended interested a "back in my day" thread 😂

Back in my day we had jumpers for goalposts but strict rules around types of balls used. They were in the following order:

1. Mitre ball
2. Mondo (thick plastic) ball
3. Fly-away balls (£1 in corner shop).

We all had proper sledges though.

Jumpers for goalposts!!!
Luxury....
We didn't have goalposts... We had to just imagine where they were.
And an actual football???
We had to make do with a balled up bit of newspaper with some sticky tape to keep it together... And the ball turned to mush if it rained.
Then home for half an hours sleep before working a 23 and a half hour shift down the pit... And we had to pay for the privilege of working down the pit..
And you tell that to the youth of today... They won't believe you 😉

Tea trays? You'd be getting a skelped backside for that, surely? 😂

To be fair nowhere should be selling them as that couldn`t be considered part of anyone`s essential shop

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Ah, but sledge is the only viable mode of transport when the council can't be bothered to grit the roads or pavements.
