Just saw a FB post that made me think about this.
Traditional cooked breakfast.
What are your 7 items?
Hash brown.
Link sausage
Square sausage
Haggis
Black pud
Tinned tomato
Scrambled egg
Really needs 9 items. Hard to leave mushrooms and an extra hash brown out.

I'm going to go to the supermarket now and buy all this stuff and have a breakfast for my tea.

Start of 2019 wouldnāt have touched stuff like that, but since lockdown Iāve been eating healthy and veggie ever since being able to work from home... not rushing to leave the house at breakfast so not having some bar thing, not eating crap from canteen or sandwiches at lunchtime and finishing work(without the commute) to have enough time to make a proper healthy dinner so no processed foods for over a year now.
Result 18kg weight lost and feeling so much better... so please do try it!

I've actually done it the other way, used to eat fairly healthy at work. Now I'm working from home it's 2 x bacon, sausage, Stornoway Black Pudding or fried egg rolls, every morning for breakfast. Sweeties and biscuit galore throughout the day. Beer most nights, I must've put on one and a half stones.
I've not had a proper pair of trousers on for a year, until this week, cutting about the gaff in trackies or hiking trousers. Put a pair of jeans on the other day and they were like skinny jeans on, my George Bernard's were crushed, muffin top was overflowing and I couldn't bend to put my shoes on.
Anyway, for breakfast, I'd have-
Beans (in a nice wee pot at the side)
Bacon x 2
Sausages (link) x 2
Fried Egg
Haggis
Black Pudding (Stornoway)
Fruit Pudding
I would need a couple more than 7 though as you have got to have -
Potato Scone
Fried Tomato

Toast doesn't count as one of your 7 IMHO. That would be like counting the mug of tea.

I dont actually eat fry ups anymore. This post was inspired by a post I saw on FB and my choice is what I used to like. I would still have one as a one off though.
I was 15st 10 When I started thinking about what I eat and how I cook it. Down to 12st 6 now and aiming to lose another stone.

In Australia, I have found it impossible to get really tasty, authentic black pudding, haggis or square sausage.
So, on the assumption that this breakfast is being served in a Scottish eatery...
bacon
poached egg
square sausage
black pudding (x2)
Potato scone
haggis
Served with a pot of breakfast tea, a wee bit of milk, no sugar thanks.
Mmmmmmmm...

OzPar - have you tried Rob`s British Butchers in Dandenong?
I`m not saying their products are completely like the originals, but we certainly like their lorne sausage, haggis, black pudding, tattie scones, etc.
Some of these are available in a few delis nearing to you - when we aren`t in lockdown.

Yes GG, I have tried Rob`s in Dandenong and on the whole, was a bit disappointed. The Lorne sausages and the tattie scones were fine, but the haggis and the black pud were not as good as I had hoped. A flavour issue.
Though the countryside is quite similar, there must be something different about what cattle and sheep are fed here in Victoria and in Scotland.
Who remembers the days when we had inflatable black puds on the terraces at East End? Courtesy of Douglas Scott, Dunfermline`s own butcher. I believe he won the national prize for the best black pud in Scotland back in the day.
Nowadays, I think you have to come from Stornaway to win that.

Superb mate, well done! š
... hardest thing I found was not taking the easy option (toast, sandwiches, some healthy looking but processed rest meal or bunging some thing processed in the oven), oh and no sweets biscuits through the week was tough at first but now donāt even really want that stuff anymore)
I also stopped drinking beer completely and now my zoom pihs up drink is either a few whiskys or gins or even a nice rum

Grilled sausage
Grilled bacon
Scrambled Egg
Hash Brown
Beans
Mushrooms
Tomato
Cup of tea or a fresh orange or apple juice.
No need for a frying pan unless I go down the fried egg route which I do sometimes. Not a fan of black pudding/haggis either. I rarely eat bread but will have a bacon roll occasionally.
In terms of calories, fat and saturated fat sausages have far more than bacon. Sausages also contain far more processed meat.I always grill my bacon too as it tastes far better imo.
Scientists at Kyoto University found bacon is a great source of the hormone coenzyme Q1, which ramps up your metabolism when combined with a brisk walk. In fact, the study showed six rashers of bacon an hour before your stroll to the office will double your fat burn.
I`m not suggesting everybody goes out and eats 6 rashers of a bacon a day though :)

I`m studying Rhino Pars` reserve team with some fascination...
Debating whether the outcome of eating that would be a severe case of the sczitts or a full-on stroke...
:)
Having said that, I have eaten Mozambican prawns in Durban and Maputo - in both cases as prawns piri piri - and they were huge and delicious. Mmmmmm.
Right now, I am looking at my breakfast plate before throwing it in the dishwasher. Empty now, it once shamefully held two slices of toast covered in a smattering of Vegemite.
(SIGH... sometimes I really, really miss Scotland.)

Mozambican Peri Peri prawns and chicken are great when also washed down with local 2M beer.
