The situation, is that apparently a large marine mammal has staked a claim in the waters off Bournemouth. And it`s going to continue to feed there as long as there is food in the water.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Bournemouth is a summer town. It needs summer pounds. If people can`t swim off the beaches there then they will gladly go to Brighton, Kingsand, Lantic Bay.
It`s all psychological. You yell `large marine mammal` and people go `huh what?`. You yell shark and we`ve got a panic on our hands on the fourth of July.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

Spent the day at the Durdel Door yesterday, not that far from Bournemouth, I think. Fantastic place when you get the weather.

All it needs is the local civic leader to announce that it`s safe to swim - then lead by example by being the first into the water.........just like mayor Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) in "Jaws".
Didn`t he ?

It`s actually the local fishermen I feel sorry for. When you got a £5000 net, you got £2000 dollars worth of fish in it. And along comes Mr. Whitey and by the time he`s finished with that net, it looks like a kiddy`s scissor class has cut it up for a paper doll!
