Definitely not invented by a painter!

Was advised to paint them with a gloss such as "once" it puts a skin on them and prevents more cracks!

Thanks for the excellent advice folks, I honestly regret going for different colours for wall, ceiling and cornice, but we live and learn.

Also, any tips on how to get pure brilliant white gloss out of my hair? 😂

I've never even though about painting it with anything different that what I paint the ceiling with. Gives me some tolerance for my dodgy painting skills.

Here is a tip I've used for years, paint cornice matt white, paint ceiling and walls any colour you like .

Once you have finished ceiling and walls, you may now have brush marks of colour on the edge of Cornice.

Now the easy bit ..tipp-Ex mouse

https://www.viking-direct.co.uk/en/tipp-ex-pocket-mouse-correction-tape-roller-disposable-4-2mm-x-10m-p-7500

Use Mouse on any coloured brush marks, usually covers 1st time and no white brush marks on walls because mouse uses roller not brush...Always leaves crisp sharp edge👍
