 Fireworks and pets

If anyone’s pets are troubled by the noise of fireworks then tune into ClassicFM between 6pm-10pm tonight and tomorrow.

They’re going to be playing soothing music for pets - developed by an animal therapy worker.

Good tip.

I'm in my annual "why do we allow idiots to buy fireworks" grump. Honestly, why are fireworks not reserved to those with a licence to do proper displays?

I thought this was potential nonsense when I heard about it but my poor wee moggies were terrified this evening. Turned it on and they are now sleeping like logs. Turned on you tube on the TV and he loves that even better as he is mesmerised with the little kitties that keep popping up the screen. I suppose that is what I am watching tonight.

Soothing music for cats. Long play no adverts. Joy, eh! What we do for an easy life.

I hate fireworks, but I hate dogs too.
I need to watch YouTube clips of people scaring dogs with fireworks but injuring themselves in the process. That will soothe me.

It's funny, I have a chihuahua who isn't bothered at all...in fact the only reaction we got last night was she was desperate to get out and the only way to describe is she was trying to give the sky a square go, pawing the air and barking in a bit of a grump.
Agree with others though, it's really distressing for some pets and upsetting for the owners.

Yep I’ve heard them too, Jake.
We’ve had them around here - at Garvock - for nearly 2 weeks though 😞

There's fireworks in Rosyth pretty much all year round.... Either that or small arms fire and rpg's.
Place is like a freaking war zone. 😲

Makes no sense. Diwali was Saturday (not sure if fireworks feature) but there are no more firework related events. Maybe they're warning flares being fired up to warn of an ambush by the Brucefield young team?

It was our 6 month old pups first fireworks at the weekend and I was fearing the worst. But apart from a couple of wee growls when the bigger ones popped, he barely noticed. Happy days.

...ken?

I caught a snippet on the radio - apparently it`s illegal now to set off fireworks before 6pm and after midnight.

It is an odd ruling giving that local councils set the decency laws for noise and is that not set to max at 10pm.
On the cats, they are still recovering, but the musical thing worked as long as it was louder than the fireworks 🤣

I wonder how Mrs Slocombe’s cat got on over the weekend!
