I see that the amazingly prolific author, Wilbur Smith, passed away in Cape Town yesterday, aged 88.

If I were to look through my bookshelves at home right now, there would almost certainly be four or five titles of his. I have read so many Wilbur Smith books since the early 1970s.

He wasn`t the world`s most elegant writer, but by heck, he could spin a ripping yarn.

Only done a few titles - but they were always very readable.
