I suppose dogs will eat anything you put in their bowls. Gluttons, the lot.

Cats though?

I`ve seen chicken and tomato, trout and courgette, beef and green beans.

I know if I put courgettes (zuccini to GG Riva) or green beans in my cats bowl I would get a scowl.

They eat mice, birds and baby rabbits, not green beens and zuccini.

My cats eat veg. It is good for their digestion. That is why you see cats eating grass. If cats have problems with digestion then cat nip will do the trick. Meat and fish the general diet but they do eat veg without any issue. They actually enjoy it. My previous old cat would go nowhere near it however.

Dogs are omnivores so will eat anything,. as anybody who owns both a dog and a bin will attest.

Cats are carnivores, so can only get energy from protein. But they would normally, in the wild, eat the entire animal - bones, fur, toenails, brain, the lot. Whiskas selected cuts of wild salmon in aspic jelly doesn`t have that, so our friendly pet food processing conglomerate chucks in a few veg to add essential minerals to wee Tiddles`s diet.

It`s wrong,to put a dog on a vegetarian diet. They have teeth, and a digestive system to deal with meat.To put it on veg only, just to pander to human, vegetarian values, is just down right stupid, and cruel.
