I was out and about earlier. Still wore my mask in shops, as did approx half of the people I saw

I think this is showing that the lack of illness in people with colds, flu and the like means it makes sense to many people. No cold in over 2 years for me.

All yon folk with no masks is precisely why I`ll be wearing one.

Not worried about me ma ainsel`, more about passing it on to a few people who it would still probably kill.

I wonder when we’ll start getting asked to take masks off???

Eg paying for petrol in a garage - they used to be required to see your face for security reasons supposedly

A few weeks ago I went into a bank wearing sunglasses, a mask and with my hood up.

That would have caused a police incident a few years ago.

I`m going to keep wearing it in indoor public spaces still, maybe for some time to come since I`m used to it and it doesn`t do me any harm.

That’s how I feel wotsit, I usually get a few cold and flu each year but nothing this year which I’m putting down to not touching nose /mouth after handling public doors, hand rails etc

Wearing a mask doesn`t really protect you.

Pleased to read most remaining cautious and considerate for now.

In Tesco today more than 50% still masking despite the temptation not to. I expected to be see just a few.

Bizarrely some with noses uncovered and some chin-wearers. Just how is it possible to care so little that they fail to understand masks need to be worn over both orifices ... if at all ... and then to continue to wear them ineffectively when no longer mandated?

How long before those who accused others of being sheep, berate wearers for not following them?

Your friendly neighbourhood Ghoulz.

"Wearing a mask doesn`t really protect you"

Very much depends on
(1) the type of mask
(2) using the mask properly

I use the FFP2 graded masks - and make sure they fit to my face as tightly as possible. Not 100% guaranteed to protect me but way more effective than cloth or the blue "surgical" masks many are wearing. Also necessary to pay close attention to hand hygiene.

I thought the main reason for wearing a mask was to prevent infection spreading to others rather than to protect the wearer?

I thought both, and although not foolproof, still better than nothing.

The eyes are what is known as a soft entry point for a virus… touching your eyes, nose and mouth is the easiest way for any of these types of germs to to get in

No vee .. sorry you did not watch the lone ranger .. if he had covered his eyes he would have been the blind ranger would he not !! .. He had holes in a black mask so he could see the baddies and he had an Indian accomplice called Tonto .. You might be able to see some episodes on You Tube

I was an avid follower of the Lone Ranger, of both actors who had the lead role.

The point being that an eye mask is no protection for the mouth/nose.
