I see the Jubilee propaganda has started to really kick off. Apart from the extra day off work, does anyone here actually care about how long an overly entitled woman has been a parasite for?

I care enough to say I’d disband them tomorrow if it was up to me.
Hereditary head of state - no thanks

The royal family is an anachronistic, anti democratic family of tone deaf entitled wasters with a luxurious lifestyle funded by the increasingly impoverished people of this country, a situation which I feel gives me every right to moan about them.
Probably worth mentioning that, as you may have noticed, I am capable of moaning about more than one thing at a time.

Spot on Wotsit. I actually just got invited to a jubilee party by someone who obviously doesn`t know me too well. Seriously, I`d rather sh ite in my hands and clap.
If we followed the lead of France or Russia in dealing with them, then that would be a party worth attending.
A celebration of a woman whose wealth is built on the proceeds of centuries of slavery, war, oppression, looting, rape and pillage and who continues to squirrel away the millions she takes out of the country in hidden offshore accounts, while making sure the media portray her as a dignified queen of a country where over a quarter of children live in poverty.
Andrew Carnegie said the man who dies rich, dies disgraced. She is a disgrace.

Russia and France are probably not the best examples. Be very careful what you wish for.
Almost all the countries you’d want to live in have a monarchy.

Don`t mind them existing but shouldn`t get a penny. Don`t care how much they make or generate. Get them out. They should have no decision making powers whatsoever.

I’m no supporter of the monarchy - but I’d rather see the House of Lords binned first.

Would take a 96 year old great gran as head of state ahead of President Boris any day of the week.

Let`s see, I do want to live in Finland, Ireland, Portugal or Jamaica.
I do not want to live in Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Cambodia, Belize, Papua New Guinea or sodding Belgium.

Maybe the Belgian football team would have won something (anything) by now if they grew up in a more egalitarian system. Right now it seems like they think trophies aren`t for the likes of them, not an issue faced by Brazil, Portugal, Germany or France.
Monarchies have a habit of blowing it when it matters, look at the great Dutch team or England`s "golden generation". "
In fact I think Spain might be the only European monarchy to win a major international trophy since 1966?
Edit: forgot about Denmark and The Netherlands winning Euros.

A touch of the "What have the Romans done for us" as per The Life Of Brian !!!
Incidentally, Spain won the 1964 Euros pre restoration of the monarchy, as well as their more recent success.

How many major tournaments have been won by a country ruled by military dictator? Brazil and Argentina did well with it.
Maybe we should try that.

Good idea. We might even get to host it since, you know, FIFA totally isn`t corrupt.
I`m feeling a wee bit jealous of those fancy countries whose Head of State can dismiss a law breaking Head of Government. That, plus their fancy-pants written (i.e. real) constitutions which say how and when that happens. Accountable government and all that.
The current UK Head of State only seems to want to dismiss socialist Heads of Government in former colonies.

I plan on not sleeping with an underage girl to celebrate the occasion then paying her £12million despite never having met her.
