There`s no other way to describe all those anti-royalists who are enjoying their day off today than a bunch of hypocrites.
If you had the merest smidgen of integrity in your bodies, you would have turned up for work today......

Bollox- apart from my work being closed. I paid my share to those troughers, so as entitled to a day off for it like the next person.
Will you extend your sentiment that only communion taking Christians can get good Friday or Easter Monday?

The real hypocrits are those celebrating this utter guff. The same people that will have vilified Camilla when Diana died, called her all sorts of stuff. I think the Sun ran a headline with her being portrayed as the devil at one point.
Nobody should be born higher than anyone else. Anyone actually celebrating this nonsense needs to have a real think about modern day priorities. No wonder the UK is a sinking ship.

I was at work today after arranging it with my manager, who understood my reasons for wanting to refuse this particular holiday.
I`m not surprised that we aren`t being told the economic impact of the day off either.

Does this mean non-christians have to work Christmas Day, Good Friday, and Easter Monday?
What if you don’t believe in the Gregorian calendar - do you have to work New Year’s Day?

Fish and chips is a very British delicacy, BPP - although chippies are traditionally manned by Italians, very few actually dine on what they sell and it`s a typical Mediterranean diet for me. As for the "beloved Tic" barb, I`m guessing that because I don`t hide my contempt for Therangers you`ve put 2+2 together and ended up with an odd number. 😉

I didn`t think anybody would be taken in by such blatant fishing. It wasn`t meant to offend or humiliate anyone, but intended as a harmless bit of fun.
Good on those who passed on the paid holiday and turned up as normal for their work. They can look at themselves in the mirror without lowering their gaze with shame.

Doh! That was a bit obscure, compared to my attempt. Besides, I came clean rather than leave it up too long. When good guys like DBP are getting upset in the first reply to the OP, I began to have second thoughts. Maybe fishing/trolling isn`t my thing...

Good Christians tend not to celebrate pagan festivals.

This! Always find the gleeful, grasping cries of “hooked!” a bit weird.
