Well, history is happening. Goodness knows what will occur in the next little while. Prigozhin is no better than Putin; perhaps he may be the catalyst, and someone else will emerge in power in the Kremlin. Surely, Putin will not survive this? And will this signal the end of the war in Ukraine?
Where is our resident Moscow Correspondent to reveal the truth to us? Sammer, you glory in the Russian Revolution... well, you are a lucky man, for now, it looks like you`ve got a second one.

Fwiw It was surely inevitable that the Russian people would rise up against the dictator because of his war on Ukraine; and for all his usual posturing he looks a fallen man (in his pre recorded speech).

Prigozhin is not the first right wing adventurer to march on Moscow and the success rate of Kornilov and Denikin does not bode well for him. His position on the Ukraine conflict has been contradictory: most of the time he complains it is not being fought ruthlessly enough. Yesterday he changed his tune and claimed it was launched under a false prospectus.
Prigozhin has declared his intent to replace the Putin government but has yet to explain any political objective whatsoever. In 1917 there was a mass opposition grouped round the Bolsheviks and the Social revolutionaries but I am not aware of any such organisations in present day Russia. 25,000 soldiers sounds an impressive number but without civilian support then at some point the Wagnerists, if they ever make it to Moscow, will have to open fire on the citizenry.
At the moment it looks like an attempted coup based on barrack room support rather than a revolution.
