You do not often see something as impressive as this beautiful colour video of Scotland taken 100 years ago. To see the country and its people from the 1920s in such clarity is quite a shock to the system; it is moving in so many ways. There is dignity to every scene, and the accompanying music is just perfect.
It`s only 15 minutes long, but if you watch it, it is likely to be 15 minutes that will stay with you for a very long time. Honestly, this is really special...

A fascinating portrait of what appears to be a more leisurely way of life but was in fact in many ways much harder.

Super, some places remain unchanged and some gone I guess. As a bit of land bound but mariner at heart type there is much to particularly enjoy
I am minded of a programme long long ago on STV (I think) where films like this featured. Cannae recall the name though.

Nice one Oz.
The footage at Stirling was really interesting - A&S.H.guard mounting at the castle etc.

thanks for sharing, Oz - very interesting
I can`t decide if the young Buspasspar, was dancing along to the sound of the bagpipes or needing a pee?
It`s bloody tough being a legend

I`ve only just got round to watching this just now - great stuff.
If you liked that then look out King Creosote`s From Scotland With Love, a whole film worth of similar clips set to original music. The songs stand up in their own right but even better with the film.
I`ve been having a scoot around YouTube and found a couple of them (there are others but without the film). The preview gives an option to buy or rent on YouTube and has the same song but different film from the second link.

Thanks parsfan. I could only see the last two videos, which were very good, and I enjoyed the music.
I glimpsed a shot of the old Green`s Playhouse (later renamed the Apollo).
My mates and I used to catch the train to Glasgow Queen Street, heading for the Playhouse. It was a dangerous dive in the early `70s, but I saw some huge bands in their prime there (e.g. Led Zep, Deep Purple, etc.). In those days, you usually had to go to the universities to see posh bands like Pink Floyd and King Crimson.
