Amazing actor. He put in a masterful performance as John Paul Getty in Trust a few years ago, brilliant series.

One of my all-time favourite actors. There were many great performances, but his role as Oddball in Kelly`s Heroes will forever stand out for me.

I remember him in `The Dirty Dozen` impersonating a general inspecting a line of troops. He asks one soldier where he`s from and when he tells him he drawls dismissively `Never heard of it` much to the trooper`s dismay.

Superb actor.

According to his obituary he came to London to study at RADA but didn`t complete the course as he was considered too tall (!) so he spent a year doing repertory theatre at Perth.
