Didn`t think there`d be much British interest this year but I chanced upon the Jack Draper v Kokkinakis match. What a game that was. Unbelievable skill and stamina. And with Andy Murray in the Djokovic corner, it adds to the interest. But I do find myself slightly put off by players who bounce the ball up to 18 times before they hit a service. I think Sinner is the guy to beat in the men`s. But it would be great to see Draper get quite far into the draw.

Don`t forget the young Scot, Jacob Fearnley, who is also through to the third round.

Yes, Eck, he`s playing no.2 seed Zverev at 2.30am our time. Unless there`s a major upset, it would be hard to see him get through that one. But good to see another Scot competing in big time tennis.

He seems to have a great temperament. Come what may, he`ll make a few quid and improve his ranking.

There’s been a few upsets already, in both men and women

Yes, da no 1, he seems to have the grit determination of an Andy Murray. With all these 5 setters, he must run out of gas soon but so far so good. He`s great to watch.
Alcatraz next BPP. If he can pull that one off he will be in the big time.

No, he didn`t escape Alca(t)raz. Looks like his physical problems are even worse than our Andy`s became. Not good news for his tennis future.

Novak comes from a set down to beat Alcaraz.
Who would bet against him winning another Aussie Open ?

Imagine telling someone a year ago Djokovic would be celebrating and hugging his coach Andy Murray after a win.

I wasn`t a big fan of Djokovic but the connection with Andy Murray is news worthy and so I hope he goes all the way and takes the trophy. Looks like he`ll require to get past Zverev and possibly Sinner, to do that.

He’s out. Retired in the semi final with injuries.

Maybe Djokovic is finding, like his illustrious contemporaries, that his body just can`t deal with the stresses and strains of top-class tennis any more.

It’s the same in any sport, wee eck. Father Time catches up with us all. It’s a horrible feeling realising you can’t do what you used to do.

Watching the women’s final. Two powerful players involved in a slugfest, with very little in the way of finesse and variety.
Just trying to hit through the other from the baseline.
Double handed backhands the norm. No ability to play any other way. Not able to mix it up.
Disappointing

The tournament is over for me as I can`t stand the German wife beater or dull as dishwater Sinner. Draper done well considering he was carrying an injury.
We definitely need some new players to come up and challenge or Sinner will dominate for years to come. Carloz is great to watch but he`s got a mental block that makes him lose focus easily (he`s went backwards after winning 4 slams at a very early age). A new coach to reinforce that winning mentality is needed.
I`m also hoping Scotland`s very own Jacob Fearnley can continue his rise up the tables. He`s a good talent that waited until university finished before taking tennis more seriously. We`ve also got a couple of teens that have a chance to do well in a few years.
The Sinner domination has me a bit bored tbh. His record over the past 18 months has been exceptionally good. That`s not good for tennis. I wouldn`t mind if it was Carloz dominating as he plays exciting tennis and has a personality.
