My favourite Watcher, Rupert Giles.
He has sadly passed away today aged 72.
There’s been a few losses in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer world recently and this is another one that hurts my heart.

I agree, always seemed to come across as an entirely unlikable character every time I seen him, possibly on account of him being a decent actor for those sort of parts

I’m a Doctor Who fan.
Anthony Head’s character as the villain in School Reunion was fantastic.
I wasn’t a big Buffy fan so didn’t know much about him other than these adverts he did but he was clearly a very adaptable actor.
Sad to hear he’s gone.

Obviously watched him in the shows mentioned but I also remember a long forgotten short lived series called Manchild that is worth a watch - think it’s on BBC iPlayer

He must have earned a fortune in residuals from those Gold Blend adverts. They were endlessly repeated on TV back in the `80s and `90s.
It was a very clever concept, like a mini soap opera. "Will they ever get together?" we wondered.
Those were the days when we used to watch and take note of the adverts on TV, for we only had 4 channels to choose from, and almost everyone saw the same adverts.
How times have changed.
