Iranian former colleagues saying that the regime has killed about 40k people during the war.
Really don`t know what Trump was thinking with half-arsing it so much on this one. A combined arms operation to destroy the IRGC really should have been war-gamed and presented as a genuine possibility, but it really seemed that Trump was so tactically naive that it`s unbelievable. Also curious as to why they haven`t gone after the new Ayatollah, but then again he is yet to be seen in public and suspected to be abroad, if still alive at all!

My two cents worth is that this is going to be a six month hiatus at best. The moment of maximum danger comes in the period after the midterm elections. Either his endorsed candidates perform well which he`ll then take as an endorsement from the electorate or they they perform badly in which case he`ll become a lame duck president whose only recourse will be foreign policy which he`ll have greater freedom to act out with congressional approval.
Until then all sides and all nations in the region will be rearming frantically. I suspect, maybe not this year or the next, but probably before Trump`s time in office is up tha the current Iranian regime will completely disintegrate but what will unfortunately follow will be blood letting and settling of scores that will dwarf what we`ve seen over the last decade in Syria.
And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

The bottom line is that Trump started a pointless, devastating war to distract from credible and loud accusations that he is a paedophile.
He`s now saying that Netanyahu is carrying out "vicious strikes" (true) and that the Iranians are "nice" (not so sure about this one) because he is so desperate to slither out of the mess he made, even at the cost of losing his war.
At least his war is less devastating than the last war his party started (in Iraq), or the one before that (in Afghanistan) - but that`s a very low bar.
