Rovers fan attacked by young pars
Topic Originator: Bannockburn Par
Date:   Tue 2 Jan 21:19

Praying the video on Twitter of young Pars fans attacking a disabled Rovers fan didn’t happen. Absolutely disgusting behaviour, no place for this at east end park.

This isn’t just about Callum who decided that wasn’t enough when he was walking away. There were 15 boys battering one disabled boy. Find them all

If that is Dunfermline Athletic supporters, then I am utterly ashamed.

That is a disgusting, cowardly attack. Not a hard man amongst them. Mob handed against a defenseless wee boy on his own. Bunch of utter wee cretins.

Folk must know who they are. Get them named and shamed and never let them into East End Park again. A few of the might want to start looking over their shoulder too, they can`t go greeting about it when they get the hiding that is coming their way.

Utter scum.

To be honest, I was getting annoyed with the antics of the folk in the North West, flares disrupting play at a time when after they scored the players were looking to get right back into the Rivers, plus items getting flung in the direction of the lines an and several Rovers players. They are fast becoming a liability.

Looks like they’ve only identified one via X at the moment.

Not sure violence the other way is an answer. There`s a photo of them there. Surely people will recognise them? Get them identified, banned and handed over to Police Scotland.

Any chance the club could offer hospitality for the lad next time we play Raith?

Theres images now circulating of a group of approx 15 boys standing getting a picture taken with hoods up etc - clothing looks similar in some images from video.

Sickening to see! Club should call them out and ban them for life to set an example of them. Scum thats not needed around our club.

And start blocking season tickets of the seats of people throwing things on the park! CCTV should be clear enough to spot the seat - ban them even if it wasnt them to set an example!

The problem with blocking season tickets of those throwing things on the park is that most that are there actually have seats further along in the stand and then just move over to that particular section.

The seats around us have always been empty in the NW despite it being a sell out.

Would only work if you can specifically identify the culprits.

Couldn’t care less which club a boy supports but 15/1 they think they are hard nuts.probably the same a*#wholes that throw piros from the north west every home game. 7 minutes wasted today when we were on the front foot with our tails up waiting for a flair to burn out. Think it’s a bit rich other ‘hooligan accounts’ getting all sanctimonious about this given they’re all just as bad and have done similar - or are they trying to make out they’re only ever one v one / both parties agree / Queensberry Rules with a referee!?!?

Assuming they all sit in the NW, their names will be on the club records. One has been named already. Pretty easy to ban him if it transpires he was involved. Genuinely hope the club can reach out and do something for the lad on the receiving end.

Yeah agreed, I was more referring to the throwing of pyros onto the pitch, and if you were unable to identify them and start just closing down select seats.

The events today if folk identified can be blocked easily enough. Doubt it will stop them entering via PATG in the Norrie though.

The purpose being that it would maybe start a self policing attitude within the area, where any culprit throwing things is singled out to stewards as other innocents will then lose their ST rights……the problem is the fans that are around this dont care about things being thrown on the park as they dont want to be seen as a “grass” .

The other option is the club closes the section and denies any further displays/drums etc until the fans sort it out - its happening far too often these days.

It`s one of the top trending on X now in the UK. David Cook is going to have a job on his hands tomorrow trying to negate the negative publicity. I also noticed several tweets suggesting that there is going to be retribution for this. Here is one such comment -

"13th January. Dunfermline v Airdrie. I reckon the away support will be huge. Fans from loads of clubs coming together to beat the living p #ss out of a bunch of little sh #ts who jumped a disabled guy today."

Airdrie don`t need help with idiot fans, though that now feels hypocritical to say given these absolute mutants. One has confessed to it and is making out the other lad started it. Unlikely but still not right even if true. There`s another video that appears to be the same group kicking another lad.

Forget nonsense on social media. The repercussions should be simple - banned for life and dealt with by the police. There`s a suggestion the lads hearing aid were broken so hopefully a fund can be set up to pay for these.

Nah, the club have got to own this one. They have taken a softly, softly approach to the lads in the North West, and the behaviour gets worse. They need to close that section of the ground and find those responsible, and give them a lifetime ban. They also need to condemn this publically in the strongest terms possible.

Another video has just gone up on twitter showing a kid on the ground being kicked until he says "F the Rovers".

I`m truly embarrassed and ashamed of the people who have done this

I sit in the North West with my 7yo son, further along from the singing section

The last Raith game we were running a little later than usual and got round and the queue was mental with chavs everywhere basically, for younger ones a very intimidating atmosphere.

I’d be ok with the NW being closed for the better good to be honest. It hurts the majority but I agree that this section has been getting off lightly for a long time now and they’ve not taken on any of the previous warnings.

It’s such a shame, it was proven only last year how effective and positive that section could be when things are going well.

Very sad about the 2 videos doing the rounds on social media. Thought better of our young fans. Sure every club will have bad eggs but we always seemed to avoid stopping this low but here we are.

Hopefully found and rightfully dealt with by the club. Would’ve liked the club to have said something on this by now. They were all to happy to bring out statements like they were going out of fashion a few years ago but radio silence whilst the Rovers have already put something out.

To say they’re not Pars fans is a load of rubbish as well. Let’s not lie, they are Pars fans, unfortunately. Hopefully a few of the older ones give them a bit of a lesson. 2 wrongs don’t make a right but for wee Dheads like these guys, they deserve it

The 2 videos doing the rounds are disgusting. Imagine your son going to the football and getting attacked, it’s not on. A 14 year old kid and a deaf fan getting his hearing aids smashed is absolutely shameful and goes beyond football. The rovers released a statement, would’ve liked us to do the same.
Other clubs now viewing Pars fans as scum and I hope this does not lead to any innocent fans getting caught up in anything in the coming weeks/months as this is a tiny minority of idiots.

Do we have a supporters group that we can align ourselves against the hooliganism element of our club , support the young Rovers fan in any way we can, financially, morally and try to support him and his family in any way. I would support this endeavour if we have a common source of supporter communication outside of any club statement.
As decent supporters, we must take the lead somehow as this is simply unacceptable and should not be tolerated.
I am ashamed and we must attempt to build a bridge to Raith and to their supporters. Shameful. Who do some people think we are? Community club statement is now in tatters.

I`d happily contribute towards any collection for the young fella.

A couple of names have been identified (innocent until proven guilty etc...). I really hope they are given bans. I saw one making excuses but there`s no excuse for continuing to kick someone on the ground, especially when it`s 6/7-1.

An absolutely sickening video and I am ashamed that these cretins have aligned themselves with my club.
I think many of us have now lost all patience with the North West group and their disruptive behaviour. The throwing of objects and flares have got out of hand and the disruption to games is not acceptable nor is the behaviour outside the stadium.
Everyone of those involved will be identified because this is now all over social media and in the public interest to be solved.
I hope the club release a statement condemning this footage and ban for life those responsible.
I`m with Jake, if this young person requires anything replaced or repaired I`d happily contribute to the funds.
I hope the club get in touch with the lad to see how we can assist.

“Section North West”, whoever that is, have also condemned the actions and stated the young lads are not active members of the group - whatever that means 🤔

Hopefully these lads are now brought to justice and banned from EEP for good.

Also, lets hope the active members of the above group have highlighted names of object throwers to the club, if they are also active members, and removed their “membership” 👍🏻

It basically means they’re not recognised as members of the NW supporters group.

Who determines membership though? 🤔😂 and again, have this group banned/named the people throwing the objects onto the park? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Haven’t got a scooby about their group membership etc (if there is one). I was quoting their well-worded statement from their X account.

Get in touch with them if you want answers to your queries.

I think what they mean that they are not actively involved in the group. So they`re not involved in the TIFOs and other activities. Basically, they`re little pricks who stand in the NW and think they`re hard. There`s no "membership" as far as I`m aware.

The North West badge was on the main culprits Instagram, I think.

Just out of curiosity, do we know the full story. Was this boy just minding his own business and got jumped, or was this the end of a bigger scrap?

There may well be more to this than what we have seen.
However, it doesn`t look great at all.
Talk of retribution means innocent parties will get caught up in this.
Thoughts go out to the lad, and i hope he is OK and that this doesn`t deter him from continuing to support his team.
I am glad the club has spoken publicly and it is in the hands of the police.
Many people have worked hard to create a great atmosphere in the NW, but it can so quickly be diminished by these idiots continually chucking flares and other objects on the pitch and then to compound these videos are released. 2 steps forward and several steps back.
We all get tarnished in the eyes of others by these senseless actions.

The explanation by one of the perpetrators was that this lad was part of a bigger group having a scrap with them. His mates scarpered so they took it all out on him. Explains that it wasn`t random but doesn`t excuse their behaviour, especially the one who continues to go for him after he`s gotten up and tried to leave.

Unfortunately, they`re all too young to be charged with anything but I hope they`re suitably scalded by their parents, friends, classmates, fans and the club.

That`s always an issue with social media I guess. This all started from a single tweet saying `Handicapped fan assaulted`, but it could well be he was just as bad as the rest but on the losing side.

Am not in any way condoning any of this and am as guilty as anyone jumping on the retribution bandwagon, but if its the tail end of 2 bunches of neds having a fight then maybe things need to tone down a bit. For all we know the boy getting kicked in was the one that started it all.

Hearing conflicting stories about where it took place - bus stop / train station / public park. Not that it matters.
The laddie is deaf, not hearing the approach by the bigger group, his friends run off and leave him.

Just hope he’s ok and the idiots are dealt with.

Id be absolutely crapping myself if I was any of you as there will definitely be retribution for this. Other fans, the police, either way you`re done. Lots of press about this incident now. Wow. Who would want to be associated with us after seeing all that.

Hopefully this gives the Police and the club the necessary info now to inflict heavy punishment on these scumbags.

Hopefully the boy is doing alright. This situation has honestly made me sick to my stomach. Dreadful time to be associated with the Pars.

If you watch the video and look at the picture in the link above then there are a few who can be identified by their shoes. Fair enough, if it was two groups fighting but to beat up one guy like that is weak. Id be wondering why all his pals left him too if thats true.

Using the word handicapped and disabled makes it sound as if the guy who was attacked had mobility issues or was in a wheel chair. The press headlines are what many people will have in their minds of course.

I don’t know the circumstances and nobody would ever condone, what would appear to be a group of ten or more individuals setting about one boy…..who had hearing aids but might well have been able to defend himself as much as any one against one or two. He may well have been in amongst a group of Raith fans who were involved in a scrap. Don’t suppose that part of the story if true will ever come out of course.

Still a black day for the club with the story going viral. Could be a while till we shake this off.

Those found to part of this will be banned for life I would think and as said before the NW section needs to clean up its act too as we are going to be under the microscope now that’s for sure..

What a difference a year makes eh?……

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Indicative of the NW Stand culture it would appear. Unfortunately seems to tie in with the wholly unacceptable practice of throwing flares and other objects onto the pitch and to target officials and opposition players. Also the abuse coming from the stands that stewards get for rightfully taking time to remove the flares is a total disgrace. Completely against any ethos and fair play standards that the club say they adhere to. This assault quite rightly exposed and widely reported on national media completely dragging the DAFC name through the mud, we are fast becoming a pariah club if this behaviour is allowed to continue.

It was reported at the time that he was stood at the bus stop waiting on a bus home. So there is conflicting information regarding the events before it seems.

He was allowed up by the majority at the end, who maybe felt enough was enough (I mean, it should never have happened full stop) but one lad felt it wasn’t and kept going for him, to which there was laughter.

Its certainly taken place either on or near a main road too as you can hear cars passing by.

Clubs name will now be dragged through the mud because of this incident, so lets hope the majority are rounded up and dealt with harshly by all.

Look, as much as these thugs seem to have aligned themselves with Dunfermline I`m sure we all know that 99.99999% of DAFC supporters are good people [all be it with questionable football affiliations]. I have no doubt that if they were in Airdrie, Hamilton or wherever they would do exactly the same and would attempt to justify their actions with an affiliation to a local team. They are not football supporters, they are hooligans who just wanted to fight.

Everyone`s priority right now should be the welfare of the young lad involved, and bringing the culprits to justice.

On a side note, it saddens me because over the last few years I have really enjoyed our games. The atmosphere has been top-noch - even yesterday it was great from both ends of the ground. To me (win, loose or draw) it is always a great fixture which and I have never felt in danger, or intimidated or wouldn`t be willing to take kids too. Yes, there has always been the odd numpty but I never seen anything taken too far.

We are both community clubs and the vast majority of us understand what that means. It is a sorry state of affairs that idiots like that can tarnish any football club. The game will be a better place when they get their football banning orders.

Not every disability is visible, and the more people who appreciate this, the better.

In some ways, the question of the young man`s disability is irrelevant to the assault, which will be the subject of a police investigation and possible criminal charges. But if some of those responsible were also aware of his disability and this prompted their actions, then this could be deemed as an aggravating factor in assessing any crime or in sentencing.

It`s a disgrace both in and out of the stadium. The fact the game was stopped twice to pyro I`d be almost certain the referee will put this into his report meaning more questions being asked of the club maybe even fines.

The fact the incident outside has now gone all over the news nationally I`d imagine we will be advised to have police at our home games at cost to the club obviously.

I think this happened some way past the away stand along Halbeath Road.
Driving past in a car about 5.40 pm I saw a group of young ‘fans’ running back in direction of EEP
To someone’s credit they went to alert two Police officers about an incident.

I get these incidents will always happen with young fans.
There have been plenty along Pratt Street as long as I’ve been a Pars fan but group beatings of a single fan by multiple so called Pars fans whether they knew of a disability or not is reprehensible and cowardly.

There is no justification for this. Football violence today is nothing like it used to be in the past. The scariest place I ever went to was Dundee, particularly prior to segregation.
However, things are starting to deteriorate again. Even at school there is a deterioration in behaviour amongst some. Fire raising in my part of the world has caused some major issues, and the kids were barely in their teens.
Covid lock down is being blamed.
However, they have arrested someone, so with a bit of luck more will follow.
There will no doubt be retribution the next time we are at Kirkcaldy, wrong place at the wrong time springs to mind.

Absolutely sickening behaviour and in a matter of minutes mindless little thugs tarnish the name of our club. It is all over social media and has featured in STV and BBC news tonight. These hooligans need to be dealt with properly and punished accordingly, kicking and beating up a Raith fan like that was not only cowardly but also criminal. If they do this as teenagers, what will this lead to?

The problem now is that they will probably be dealt with by a Children`s Panel, rather than a Court and will therefore be spared any punishment. Whatever happened to actions have consequences?

Unfortunately scenes like these are common in schools now as there is very little deterrent, so these little bullies think they can do what they like and get off with it.

I sincerely hope they never get to set foot inside EEP again as we can do without thugs like that.

It may also make the idiots who continue to throw flares and other objects, on to the pitch to think twice, if they know that breaking the rules could lead to them also being banned.

I really hope the young lad from Kirkcaldy is ok and this horrible experience won`t stop him from going to watch his football team, something everyone should be able to do without fear of being attacked.

Lots of people saying they`re ashamed to be a Pars fan today. I`m not in the slightest. Let`s be clear about this, these are the actions of dreadful little fannies who have nothing to do with the values of our club. They don`t represent me or my family who have supported the club for generations.

They also don`t represent the actions of SNW, where the vast majority just want to have a good time.

We have to weed out this behaviour and the reaction from the support shows it will happen and it must happen. A lifetime ban for anyone found to be guilty of taking part in this.

Good post Rusty.

I`m proud of my club and proud of our support.
The henious crime committed was carried out by a few, outside and away from the ground. What can the club realistically do about that?
The club will support the legal process as stated and they`ll take appropriate action. I`d expect nothing less.
What I`m uncomfortable with is a number of our own fans looking to vilify a whole section of our ground for this crime.
Getting the pitchforks and torches out then trial by social media, a modern day version of a public execution.
We don`t need to be beating up our support, taking responsibility, yes, but not turning on each other. There`s enough fans of other clubs out there reeking of sanctimony.

People arent vilifying the section for the attack outside the ground - they are vilifying the section for consistently throwing things on the park and at officials/opposition players.

The fact you are missing that is staggering really.

What folk are looking for is some sort of self policing in the NW , Rovers fans threw flares on the pitch at the last game at EEP ,Rovers asked them not to, they threw flares on the trackside , those with flares in the NW, either stand with them in your hand as they do in europe , or have a safe place to put them trackside or risk getting that part of the ground closed or police supervising

Nothing staggering at all. There have definitely been Pars fans attempting to link poor behaviour in the NW to what happened outside the ground. Which I think is unacceptable tbh.

Who is saying otherwise regarding poor situations needing to be dealt with, certainly not me. But I think a reasoned and considered approach to resolving any issues is certainly more productive than reactionary decisions.
Some supporters are basically saying, flares and a serious assault: close the NW, that`ll teach em!
Let me put this out there, that approach will resolve absolutely nothing.

I agree that the incidents are separate but they do have common denominators - the lads are clearly fans of DAFC, they clearly believed they were part of Section North West and they clearly believed their antics were suitable for this day and age.

What is now required is for them to be named, shamed and brought to justice (via the courts or the club) and retrospective action taken against anyone found throwing things on the park. It could turn out that these lads also partook in the throwing of items etc.

I have pretty much seen and digested every post that`s been on social media about this. Since it popped out the back of 10 or so last night. Before I write anything. I hope the victim will be fine.

1) These wee punks are not Pars Fans.
2) They do not reflect Dunfermline Athletic Football Club in any way.
3) To blame the North West is just too easy.
4) Anyone on X must be ready to combust at the lambasting DAFC is getting and at times from the Old Firm. The hypocrisy is beyond belief.
5) Social media at its best and worst all in one go with this one.
6) I will never ever be ashamed to follow Dunfermline Athletic over some little idiots. Never.

You see there`s an issue with all of this on social media. There`s already been one laddie named as being guilty and his mum has already been to the Police to prove he didn`t assault the Raith youngster. She`s already been threatened by Pars fans, and other fans. She was on Facebook last laying all this out, obviously now worried she and her family come to harm. So it`s utterly wrong to speculate. Maybe those being named didn`t partake in throwing things, maybe some of those named on social media didn`t actually assault the young Raith fella. Best let the Police take the situation through the necessary process.

As the old saying goes, "Sleep with dogs, get fleas." Some of these lads have tarnished the name of the club and SNW with their actions. Sadly, this affects all Pars fans.

Unclear why the mum on Facebook appears to be blaming a Pars post. The photos/names are all being shared by private individuals. There appear to be a few too many Jessica Fletcher`s on social media (wrongly) naming people. Leave it to the professionals. I`m sure the lad already arrested will share names.

What happened on Tuesday was sickening but not really that surprising to me. It`s been brewing over the last couple of seasons & at some point an incident like this was going to happen.

I have to say I`m a bit concerned how this all pans out at the next home game. I take my dad to the games, he`s 76 & uses a rollator (zimmer with wheels) & we park behind the NW stand (many away fans might not be aware but that is where the disabled car park is) At the first game of the season v Airdrie, I was walking (slowly) with my dad from his car to the disabled access doors at the back of the Norrie. At the same time, a group of away "fans", well into their 50s, ran up to that gate to confront the folks queuing to get into the NW but also passing by to gain access to the Norrie. It all got a bit ugly & I have to say not very pleasant to be caught up in the middle of it. There were 2 stewards there, who looked absolutely terrified. 2 policemen eventually turned up by that time it had all calmed down & the folks looking to cause bother had disappeared.

I think the club with Police advice better be ready for the 13th.

I sometimes cut through Leys Park nursing home on the way to a game even though I sit in the main stand. I think all fans should consider going along Halbeath Rd for next home game….safety in numbers. I appreciate that not all fans can do this though. There will need to be a significant Police presence behind the NW….at a cost to the club obviously, and a significant Police presence in the town bearing in mind what happened last season…

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

You’re wrong with your first point there, they ARE Pars fans, whether we like it or not. As a club we need to own this so we can deal with it properly , not be in denial about it.
You wonder what the board are feeling about this, all the work done to make this club what it is and these numpties set us back years.

It`s going to be difficult for the Board to navigate between the need to be seen to do something, the legal rights of the individuals, the police "advice", the interests of the majority of decent folk in the NW and the desire to grow the number and involvement of younger fans.

One thing I`m pretty sure of is that the German investors will have been unimpressed about the level of bad publicity for the club less than a fortnight after their policy statement on sportsmanship etc.

I take my 6 year old son to the matches - there is absolutely no danger I will be taking him anywhere near EEP on the 13th. I’ve already been questioning whether EEP is the right place to take an impressionable child already with the regular throwing of objects onto the pitch but if there is the slightest hint of a flashpoint my first responsibility is his safety.

That said might be a few extra on the gate to counter home fans lost if the supposed visit by rival ‘firms’ looking for retribution is correct (I highly doubt it though)

JamesAndrew……not within the stadium but there is a higher than normal risk of bother in the car park behind the NW I would suspect. And possibly in the town. Fans will have to be vigilant. Hopefully these threats on SM come to nothing. We will find out on 13th.
Indeed any Pars game in the next few weeks is likely to attract Neds looking for “ retribution” unfortunately…..of course it would be innocent fans that may get caught up in something ugly, so I can understand why some folk may decide to give a game a miss, at least until this horror show disappears or until it becomes yesterdays news. My own opinion is that we will be getting some unsavoury attention in the short/medium term, so fans will need to be vigilant.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

By the time the 13th comes about the majority of it will have died down. A lot of other fans will have had initial pent up rage about it but SHOULD come to the conclusion that these fans are being dealt with and arent part of the bigger collective.

Any person attending on the 13th just for a scrap and retrospective action towards innocent Pars fans is just yet another hooligan and no better than the kids in the video.

People forget quickly. TBH it blew up very quickly with people going on a witch-hunt rather than leaving it to the police. People seem happy to leave it to the police now. I doubt we`ll hear more about it but guarantee the others will have been picked up by the police by now. I`m not watching the video again but it`ll come down to identifying those who got a kick in rather than those standing about (who are equally guilty IMO for not stopping it).

My big question is why one of these idiots filmed and shared it! Bad enough doing it, but why film yourself doing something so disgusting and illegal?

I also asked further up why anyone would not only stand idly by, but also film the whole disgraceful episode. That was bad enough but to then post it on SM - the mind boggles. There`s no limit to stupidity.

Will it not be relatively easy for the police to trace this individual?

I genuinely just don’t get it, struggle to understand the urge to have a brawl over a game of football.

I don’t understand why someone was standing videoing the thing then to post it on Social Media.

I don’t understand how there was about 10 of them and not one had the sense to realise what they were doing was wrong and to stop it.

I don’t understand the bloody daft photo they took of them all looking like thugs.

The flares going on the pitch is just bloody childish, kills all the momentum.

It’s infuriating, it’s a safe bet that they are situated in the NW whether recognised as a member or not, all the trouble stems from that stand which is a shame as that’s where all the atmosphere comes from as well.

There’s been PLENTY of warnings in the past, we need to reconsider shutting it down, and I sit in that stand myself and would be disadvantaged by it.

A shift into the Norrie would make a difference.

Can the subject of this thread please be changed? Handicapped is a very dated label. My twin boys are 15, they have a profound disability. Incidents like this terrify me as a Dad. My boys are so vulnerable yet animals like this don`t care. I don`t know where society is going, it`s so sad and the worst bit is that it`s likely very little will happen to those responsible

Was it one of the bullies that posted the video? Pretty silly to post a video of a crime that he or she is actively involved with.

This planets inhabitants continue to astonishing me.

Agree with Snevets. I appreciate no malice was implied but it`d be good to go with a more acceptable term or simply "Rovers fan".

Kozma, if the lad filming wasn`t involved I`d argue he`s complicit by filming rather than intervening. There was video of them kicking another lad. Not clear if it was the same person filming.

Well done to Raith on the support. Good to see Pars players getting involved too.

It`s good to see that the boy appears to look well and not have any significant injuries. I am not trying to downplay the incident in any way but pleased to see him looking well, and hopefully, he continues to get out and about to support his team.

"Complicit" by not intervening and getting beat up himself?

A bit of advice to you, if you see violence in the street, phone the police and record what is going on, that way you contact the correct people to deal with the situation and you provide evidence to what actually happened.

Some people don`t fear jail or have second thoughts of pulling out a knife in such situations.

Yes, I think it would be good to remove the word "handicapped", which is definitely NOT an acceptable word to use nowadays.

Many people living with a disability just get on with their lives and would be unhappy to be classed as "handicapped" in any way. In fact, most problems faced by people with a disability arise from failings in society and/or the physical environment to accommodate their reasonable needs.

It`s also quite possible that the young man who was being kicked might not even consider himself "disabled" just because he (apparently) uses a hearing aid. Or he might think himself as a member of the deaf community. Or quite possibly he doesn`t think any of these things and just sees himself as a young man, which is a perfectly healthy attitude.

So yes, Admin - ditch the "handicapped" label, please.

Yep, it doesn`t really need the handicapped bit there.

Raith have looked after the young lad well, hope he has had a good time and is recovering well. Raith are currently trending on Twitter, getting plaudits from everywhere. What has been a PR disaster for us, has ended up being great publicity for them

I take your point but you`re confusing little fannies from Dunfermline with gang members from East London. I`d suggest filming it would merely draw attention to yourself so I wouldn`t do that if you`re concerned about violence.

The person filming was obviously one of them thus is complicit as he stood by and watched it all happen whilst filming it to share with his daft pals.

From what I seen on twitter, the person filming it sent it to someone called Blair McNally who seems to post about these faux-hooligans you get these days. I think the lad that sent it was foolishly thinking he would be impressed at how tough the Pars Section North West were, but Blair has thought otherwise, and the sender has then tried to distance himself from it.
Quite a lot of chatter on twitter tonight though about there being more to it than a guy waiting on a bus, this being a bit of a coming together between two like minded groups of lads, with the Raith fans making a hasty retreat, leaving this poor lad to get a beating, which went a bit too far

The lad on twitter needs to stop now. It`s strongly coming across like he`s using this incident to get attention for himself. He`s also exaggerated quite a lot of it. That said, the most bizarre claim was that the lad is trans and the group who assaulted him were an anti-trans mob 🤔

I’ve got to say I think the whole thing looks overblown. The boy has a punctured hearing aid no a punctured lung. The video does not capture everything either about why the incident started in the first place . ( ie another group of lads from Kirkcaldy were there). The silly boy who confirmed himself there on social media has apparently been arrested and will probably take the blame for the whole thing. The other boys should keep their heads down and learn a lesson.

The Rovers laddie is okay. He`s been looked after by his club, great stuff.

Blair McNally, where to start with him?
When he was welcomed to EEP he made such a fuss about the Dunfermline v Falkirk rivalry. Given his heightened state of enthusiasm for the game, I just thought what an annoying Tw*t.
What he did with his match blog was incorporate video footage of the scrapping outside Tappies that was doing the rounds. He used footage of violence and social disturbance to help promote his stupid wee video.
His behaviour toward the young lad was a tad too much imo, he had no affiliation to the laddie or Raith Rovers. There`s an opinion doing the rounds he did it for self promotion, I can dig that.
If he ever appears at East End again I hope he gets told to go away.

6 now lifted for it. Sounds like that`s them all. Scary that it was mainly wee lads who would be probably 2nd or 3rd year at high school but also concerning that one was 20! What`s a 20 year old doing knocking about with school kids and encouraging fighting?

Fighting at Edinburgh City now but not much reporting. It`s always been an issue but I hope clubs can work together to get rid of these idiots. It`s not Green Street!

Glad they`ve been rounded up. It`s been creeping in for a few years now, so not unexpected, but their stupidity is. We live in a world now where your coupon can be shared and viewed by 000s of people in seconds - so christ knows why pavement dancing is coming back into fashion.

On the attack itself, I`ve no idea the circumstances on the lead up to the the boy being jumped, it`s a video lasting 10-20secs, but I do find it hard to believe a 17/18 year old boy decided to bus it (on his own) to and from a Fife Derby - and decided to wear his best wannabe Football Casual uniform as well. Call me a sceptic if you wish. Most likely scenario is he got mouthy, along with a few others and they legged it and left him to his fate. Sure the Police will get to the bottom of it.

Whatever led up to the horrific incident, the fact is 6 or more thugs attacked 1 person. There is no excusing that behaviour.

Athletic nails the scenario. The bus stop story is a complete nonsense and doesn`t align with the other accounts shared on social media. Regardless, you don`t go 6v1 with anyone. The fact he`s autistic is irrelevant, as is his hearing difficulties. It`s just not on.

Agree with others that it`s been creeping in. I`m sure this stuff happens more often than people realise but doesn`t get picked up. A workmates step son used to "support" Alloa but it was basically to wind up/start fights with opposing fans. That would`ve been almost 10 years ago.

At the end of the day. Anyone that goes to a football game to fight is a total genius and needs their head checking. Only those present know the truth about what happened. I’m glad a quick investigation has happened and those involved (allegedly) are being rounded up.

This is a result of the “ultra” culture that seems to be growing in the country. Because you sit in an area a few times a season you have to act like a thug.

These people don’t realise all it takes is 1 punch or 1 push for someone to die. It’s not a laugh it’s not funny. But when incidents like these are down played or fingers are pointed it’s going to continue.

Agree but it doesn`t need to be that way. The "ultra" movement is predominantly about singing, banging drums, doing TIFOs and making a bit of a spectacle. The fighting or even posturing is just nonsense. I`m on the fence about flares/smoke bombs. I think they add a bit of atmosphere but not when they delay games and potentially hurt/alarm people in the stands.

These folk try and copy clubs where the ultra culture is part of life. Take Dortmund for example they have ultras who don`t sing songs about other club players taking it up the rear or about any clubs other than their own. It`s rare for any pyro to make it onto the park and they self police the area.

They also have a lot to do with the club and tries to help the club ours just cost more bother when stuff get thrown on the pitch. The north west tifo at the Raith game was great but had almost been forgotten about with the incidents after it.

c'mon the pars
