Not a big fan of friendlies generally whereas the wales Poland game is a proper meaningful match

Greece Georgia gone to penalties for euro qualification - winner goes to Germany
And after having the Greece game live, rather than show the penalties, they’ve cut to the Wales build up!

This is pretty dull viewing so far - NI sitting very compact with 11 men behind the ball and we cant break them down.

We are going to get skelped at the euros with this defence and lack of anything up front. Also, that kit is bogging.

Patterson is having an absolute shocker. Outside of Gilmour, the rest of the midfield have no interest in trying to link the play.

Started brightly but after about 15 minutes ran out of ideas…..now just dull sideways passing and no thought process of how to break them down.

Too many balls going backwards even though we are getting the chance to go forward , far too slow and predictable as usual very negative at present
patterson needs to be taken off before he gives any more gifts to NI
Clarke needs to change a few things for the second half because going forward we are dire , forwards not getting a sniff because the ball isn`t getting to them

75% possession, back 3 easily had the majority of that, with little aspiration of playing forward, always to the wing who passes straight back without even a look, or to Gilmour who is the only one who seems to lift his head, but lack of support means he hasn`t been as effective

We really need Hickey fit for the euros.
Bradley has put in a few heavy challenges in the first half. I hope someone does the same to him early in the second half.

This reminds me of the Scotland of old !
The most annoying thing is You would think we were winning the amount of times that the ball has went backwards or sideways ,this has been a sore game to watch
glad it`s a long time before the next Scotland game

N.Ireland sat back as expected. Rather than all the passing back it should just have been shot after shot. Instead it was something close to "shot" but a different vowel.

Credit to NI, each player knew what they they had to do since we struggle to break down teams. Keeper couldve had a full body cast and still kept a clean sheet

Dykes is like playing with 10 men, yet he starts. Scotland`s best performing midfielder doesn`t start again cause he isn`t far enough up the favourites pecking order. No attempt to see if we have an alternative right back, which will kill us if Hickey doesn`t return. We have so many midfield options, why not see what McTominay can do up front - it`s where he used to play. Clark was happy enough to play him as centre-half.
I just don`t get what the point of that game was tonight.

And we couldn`t handle it and didn`t like it,and couldn`t break it down.

Said before we look a strong team now with the exception of a really decent centre forward. The stats from last night are crazy, would make it look like we dominated them but in reality i don`t think we did.

Very poor but think we`ll be a lot better at the euros as the teams we`re facing will have a go and not sit 11 men behind the ball

A lot of the squad still coming back from injuries, some not even first pick for their teams.
Mcgregor that much of a miss?
Ireland played in their faces, some dubious tackling and 10 men behind the ball, difficult to break down.

There needed to be a few ‘robust’ tackles handed back - we were bullied, and did nothing about it.
We had plenty ineffective possession, with almost every ball out wide being returned back inside, instead of pinging one across the box.
Even the few crosses that did go in were after additional interplay that allowed the defence to set up.
Poor poor display

I`m amazed Patterson finished the game, he really needs to find a way to be playing games between now and the euros or he`s a waste of a seat on the plane. I think N.Ireland knew he was a weak link and targeted him.
The game reminded me a bit of when we were beaten 2-0 by Airdrie a month or so ago. They set up really compact in the centre of defence and got forward really quickly when they had the chance. Scotland (or Dunfermline) maybe needed a change of shape sooner to get greater numbers up front, or to try to get more wide to draw them out. We were pretty shaky at the back too so that may have prevented some of that push forward or reshuffle.

Awful game last night with absolutely no pass marks for anyone, especially disappointing after the mostly positive display from Friday.
Hopefully getting poor performances out of the way before the Euros, tho we usually play well against better opposition - I don`t think any of our summer opponents will sit with 11 men behind the ball for the majority of the game.

Was looking forward going to Germany but now concerned. We don`t do well in friendlies but that doesn`t get rid of the nerves that we are capable of imploding at any moment.
The first game against Germany might let us know early how it`s likely to go.

I wouldn’t worry about that game. We won’t have to break down any teams. We will be set up to counter attack
I wish we had a goalscorer, mind you. Dykes gives it his all, but he’s not much of a footballer
