Great to hear him admit that communication hasn’t been great and that they are now looking to work on it after noticing fans frustrations.
Good explanations regarding ongoing things at the club as well. A positive for once 😃

A common complaint is that the club is not good at keeping the fans informed.
A video is then released, with the chairman speaking for over 10 minutes about the current goings-on at the club - and the feedback is that we didn`t learn anything new.
It is difficult to join that circle.

Also, some people fundamentally don`t understand PR. This was never going to be a Paxman grilling!
And lastly, if Raith Rovers are so good at fan engagement, why are their season ticket sales so bad?

I think what we need to do is look at rovers to a certain degree, i dont want any on those cartoons and whatnot, but they are constantly putting stuff out and are really informing their fans about goings on around the club

He can only answer the questions asked. Maybe complain the questions could have been different rather than the answers.
I think the fact that the 3 positions highlighted by the management were dealt with quickly and that the top targets identified were all signed and not other options.
Also no one knew about the academy boys getting promoted deals and training with the first team.
I’m sure the club would prefer ideas being mentioned to them rather than being criticised on a forum. I’m not seeing anyone ask these questions to the chairman and the supporters meetings. Steven mill does the interviews with him. Why not ask him specific questions for the next one?

Good communication doesn`t cost anything. Fan engagement is essential for a club like ours. It generates conversation and stirs emotional responses in supporters. Positive communication creates interest and conversation amongst fans. Dunfermline as a town has increased in population so we should be trying to capitalise on that. To a large extent its about brand loyalty. There is alot to be positive about with the new facilities and development policy that feeds into that. What`s not to communicate and sell to the fans.

Not watched enough of them to judge them. I’ll put the trust in management and coaches with it. The fact we signed our number 1 targets is a good thing McPake seems to have got what he wanted. No hiding place this year. The difference between top end and bottom end was minimal last year could well be the same again. Really hope we are a bit better to watch this season. I know you can’t have everything but we have been boring to watch last few years.

I`ve listened to the interview again and, with the young players referred to not being named, it`s difficult to be sure which ones are part of the squad and which are just training with the squad. Whoever they are I can`t see it as anything but a positive that the management team consider them to have developed sufficiently to have earned that status.

Yet we’ve had a pretty awful season, and are still well on track to have over 1000 season tickets than them.
Perhaps, as is always the case with that lot, there’s some extreme exaggeration?

Don’t know buddy but if it was the difference of 1000 or anything close, that would be unlikely wouldn’t you agree?
My point is, despite the hype, the actual reality of brass tacks coming out of that lot doesn’t quite stack up. They’re gambling, and that’s up to them. Totally unsustainable long term.

All vs none.
They haven`t been free for at least two or three seasons. They started at £18 then up to £20.
If the counter to that is "but they`re cheap, that`s why we`ve sold more than them", wasn`t there a thread a month or two ago about how much more expensive ours are compared to theirs?
Also, U12s can`t get in without an adult and there`s are at least a few adult STs sold just for the U12 deal.

You can get an U12 without an adult one and I’m not believing for a minute that they are all accompanied by an adult at games either.

You can get an U12 without an adult one and I’m not believing for a minute that they are all accompanied by an adult at games either.
I`ve never been able to renew my kids` STs online. The system sees them as not being connected to me. This year I decided to give it a go, did mine, the eldest then my 12 year old. He was 11 last season and I couldn`t renew his because it wasn`t with an adult - even though this one would be a 12+. There may well be other ways in which one can be bought without an associated adult one but the online system is trying to stop it (maybe just another of its problems).
Do any under 12s get in without an adult? Of course, I don`t doubt it for a second but, unless you`re objecting to my use of "can`t" rather than "shouldn`t" I don`t see what point you`re trying to make. Would you argue that there`s no age restrictions around drinking and pubs just because some people get around them?
What is undisputable is there is a stadium rule that U12s aren`t allowed in unaccompanied. How well is that enforced? I don`t know for certain but I didn`t even know it was a rule until earlier this year when the very nearly 12 year old had run ahead and been stopped by a steward asking where his adult was.

Agree with the above. Although it`s a nice shiny brochure it does look like they`re flashing their knickers at anyone who cares to look. All seems a bit desperate. Also some of their fans weren`t shy having a pop at us when we sold the stadium naming rights to EEP, yet they appear to be doing the same if not more.

Looks like a really professional brochure. However my experience of these types of brochure are that they are extremely ineffective.
We normally sell out or hospitality etc so while we may not have a nice shiny brochure we are obviously doing something right.
Not saying there isn’t a need for such a brochure as part of a marketing plan, but some people seem hellbent on knocking our board and using Raith as some sort of shining example. We could do with better communication, which the board have agreed with and are addressing and Raith could do with a lot less cringe. I suppose their approach appeals to a certain section of their support.

Again, that is a balancing act, especially with the away kit about to be launched.
You want enough stock to ensure that everyone is happy, but not so much that it sits in boxes as you can`t shift it.
There was one season where Falkirk totally overestimated the numbers and had tons of it unsold.

meanwhile we are 10 days into selling kit and training kit and already losing customers because they are out of stock and "working to get more"
Losing customers to who? Raith?
Did you not know that fans that cannot get the merch they want, exactly when they want, immediately switch their allegiance to a different club team 🤷🏻♂️ (personally I just wait until it’s in stock)
Damn turncoats
Ep.17 of East End Tales is out now with Andrius Skerla

Can I just add that I would`ve bought 4 tops for fathers Day for myself, my dad, and my two boys, I now haven`t bought them. And if I do, I will probably only get the boys now.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

Shocking that you have also gone and bought 4 season tickets at Starks Park as well!

Well it worked out 43p cheaper per week to get a Rovers season ticket. What can you expect? I was on the shelf but then I saw I would also get 10% off a birthday party at Starks. You can`t deny that`s good value.
