 It starts tomorrow

Well I always think if you get on a roll and get results, you are more likely to get results and other teams are cautious of you.
Our friendlies have been awful and done nothing for morale, so Tomorrows match is an indication of the season success for me, should be 4 nil to the pars and move on from there.

They turned over Dundee United and hearts needed a last minute winner last season. Won’t be an easy game.better hope mehmet doesn’t get injured as we don’t have a sub goalie

Ex-Pars James Craigen and Paul Watson (boo!) are in the Spartans` squad along with a couple of handy strikers in Blair Henderson and Mark McNulty!

Paul Watson. What a disgrace to the good name of professional footballers that guy is. Sh@t on his manager, his team mates, the club and the fans. Deserves the career he has had since he left us

We have not got a big squad as everybody knows. It is a small, compact squad, so you need everybody fit and available.
We have got players who are adaptable and I think that’s what we are going to need in terms of the size of squad that we are going to have to work with."
Two quotes from our assistant manager , we better have better luck this season than we have had so far, and last season or were in deep doo doo again .

4-0 is a bit of stretch. We never looked like scoring against Dundee and created very little against St Mirren. We’ve only scored 1 in 4 pre season games.

We don’t create nearly enough chances as we should. Perhaps if we start with a 4-4-2 we might get some goals but I suspect it’ll be the usual 3 at the back with wing backs (which wastes KRH) imo.

I hope I’m proved wrong but if we win it’ll be a scrappy 1-0.

What starts tomorrow (today) is the anticipation ( dampened this season ) quickly followed by disappointment then a realisation that we are going to struggle again to score goals and win games. Then the infighting starts on here, with some protagonists ( the optimists ) defending the indefensible and others ( the realists ) venting their spleens as they witness their proud club being given the run around in most games.

Buckle up folks. Your Saturdays and weekends are about to change……

Fingers crossed that we are lucky this season with injuries and that our strikers can find the net regularly. If so, then it might not be all doom and gloom.

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

The optimists will defend the indefensible and the pessimists will find a negative in everything and have a knee-jerk reaction to everything. Reality as always will be somewhere in the middle, where no-one resides.

Anyone who went to the friendlies know they were pretty tame and was about fitness, a kickabout and practicing playing from the back which most of the time failed, then significant squad rotation throughout so I struggle to pay much attention to preseason results.

St Mirren and Dundee are both top six outfits as well, former in Europe.

The season starts today, they get judged from today so let’s just go into it with a bit of positivity, you know what a big backing can do for our side.

Tricky for me to nail down the possible 11 today:

Mehmet

Comrie
Benedictus
Breen
Ngwenya

Wotherspoon
KRH
Otoo
Chalmers (on the basis Hammy might be out due to a sore ar$e)

Wighton
McCann

If McPake stays true to his word about starting those who shone during preseason then Taylor Sutherland will be starting today but I think he’ll go McCann.

Gone for Wighton just because Kane has been ‘intending to take part’ in recent games and hasn’t but wouldn’t be surprised if he gets 45-60 mins if he’s fit enough.

No idea, let’s just go for a W

On the contrary, IMHO, thats where most reside.
