I feel that Kane Ritchie is being wasted
playing on the left side of our team. I feel
he is more creative playing down the right
side of the team. He is a natural right footed
player and we would get a lot more from him
in that position.

KRH on the right wing
Cooper on the left
Kane and McCann/Sutherland front 2
Otoo/Hamilton/Wotherspoon/Clay combo in the middle
NGenwa Fogarty Young Fisher
Tobi
A competent coaching team would get a tune out of that fiddle

No place for Todd? He`s most effective making runs from midfield so I think he`d have to be part of that area.

Forgot about him Eck! Duh
Chuck him in the midfield mix and Chalmers just to wind the usual up if nothing else.......seriously tho I do think Joe offers qualities none of our other midfielders have in certain games .

The issue is the way they are asked to play.

I too would like to see Kane and Wighton tried up front together. Last season they had the best ratio of goals from shots but don`t get the ball played into them often enough.
MCCann takes too many shots from outside the box that either go past the post or over the bar. He takes way more than double the shots of any other player. Michael Stewart when commentating on the televised Raith game said that McCann has all the physical attributes of a good footballer but makes the wrong choices and should be driving into the box and looking to pick out passes instead of shooting all the time.
Last season shots on goal:
McCann 54
Edwards 24
Todd 24
Kane 23
Wighton 20
Last season goals from shots ratio:
Wighton 1 from 3
Kane 1 from 4.5
Todd 1 from 6
McCann 1 from 8
Otoo 1 from 9
Jakubiak 1 from 11
Maybe we would score more goals if the strikers with the best conversion rates had the ball played into them more often. Edwards has 8 assists last season and McCann only had 1.

thankfully there is still 7months of season left still time to turn this disaster of season around but we need to get shot of mcpake too obvious hes lost dressing room out of his depth hasnt a clue we have good players but need decent manger to make them tick before its too late right now its worse than 2021/22 because at least that team could score goals

Until his assist on Saturday he had done nothing for months. He played down the right against Partick last week and his performance was poor. He is very lightweight so is easily pushed off the ball and his tackling is poor. Over-hyped by many a Pars fan as is Matty Todd.

Interesting stats seventay.
So sounds like if mcann took his time and tried to pick a pass out instead of shooting wide it would help the team? Sounds really obv but it ain’t happening. Problem is it requires game intelligence and awareness to do this and I haven’t seen much evidence of that. Also would require a look up to pick someone out in the box rather than the old hit and hope ball in.
KRH has not recovered from the injury problems from last year, it’s either that or he’s struggling with the jump up in standard in this league. It could be down to the negative coaching tho.

This is a valid point. KRH performed well in a team flying high at the top of the table is he a player who needs confidence or is he just struggling to adjust to life in the championship? Only time will tell.

KRH probably plays his best in the final third. More opportunities to do that in league 1 against lesser part-time opposition.

I think you’re being harsh on him. He is good enough to be playing in a Championship team. I would prefer to see him on the right and McCann on the left. We tend to hit cross balls left to right and to me it makes sense to be aiming that towards McCann rather than KRH

I actually agree to an extent, his biggest problem was that he swung his left foot a couple of times at it and it was very poorly done. When he couldn’t cut back he couldn’t offer a cross 🤷🏻♂️ I think if he was on the right he would have at least put some sort of quality in.

I recall the game against Dundee Utd last season.
Kane Ritchie was on fire. He set up Matty Todd to
score our 1st goal. Then he scored a cracker for our,
2cd goal., and the he scored a good goal in the 2cd half.
So this is an example of what Kane is capable of doing
in the right team set up.

The injuries to him and Todd at the start of last season really hampered us collectively and a lot of the momentum we`d built up the season before kind of peetered out as a result as they were definitely two of our biggest attacking threats.
Hope they can stay injury free and in KRH case get some confidence back as he looks a shadow of the player who burst onto the scene on loan. Granted the level of opposing defender is a up a notch.

As much improved as matty has been and he’s had some good games and goals since he came back last season, he needs to get a much longer run of games or we’ll just never see the best of him.
23 years old now and not being talked about a potential cash in sale in the same way as otoo, here’s hoping he gets fit in next few weeks and stays fit for the remainder of the season and adds goals and assists to his game.

I think KRH has a lot of talent. He was unlucky with injuries, so no doubt it takes time to get back up to speed. I thought he played well on Saturday. Part of being effective is that you put defenders under pressure, draw out other defenders to cover, etc. Sometimes, you only need that one opportunity to beat the defender and get the ball in the box. Obviouslyi. In this division, it`s tougher, but it`s about playing against these teams and learning and improving.
He has bulked up a bit which I think he needed for this league, so I hope he can kick on this season, grow in confidence and develop his potential into the player that we can see is in there.

He was really effective in the 1-1 draw with Partick Thistle in April playing in a right wing position and being supported high up the pitch by Welch-Hayes who was pretty quick. I remember thinking I hope we stick with that formation but he ended up with a deeper role by the next game. He suffers from getting moved around the team quite a bit, not all Mcpake`s fault, injuries sometimes play a part but I would like to see him get an extended run on the right wing of a front three to see what he can do.
