Chance to reach a cup final tonight and build on the feel good factor of the last few days.
It`s about as difficult an opponent you could ask for in this cup, but we`ve got home advantage and I think we can edge a close game. It might even take extra time or penalties.
I noticed the kick off is 19.35 and not the normal evening time of 19.45.

Either of those 2 would put us at as a disadvantage due to both being plastic pitches.

"The final will be played at Peterhead......Its the SFA!"
You`ll have to tell the SPFL then since they run it and have their name in the competition name! Think it`ll be at Airdrie anyway.
Thinking of going to this one tonight, but I might wait until the teams are announced. If there`s any sign of some new players I`ll probably head up. Don`t think there will be too many chamber maybe Yeboah for Kane, Ritchie-Hosler for Stevens and Hampson for Wotherspoon. If Mullan is fit he might come in for Benedictus. Think Livingston will take this seriously so might be a decent test.

What`s the logic in getting a free kick 15 yards in there half, just on stroke of halftime then end up going backwards and sideways all way back into our own half, it`s baffling. Livi deserve the lead, but we`ve had a couple of glimpse of their goal so fingers crossed for improvement in 2nd half.

Hard to make much of the game when we bizarrely started with three holding midfielders in a 4-3-3. Quite where the creativity was meant to come from I have no idea. I`d have had Hampson on for Hamilton at half time. We are still trying to play out from the back which doesn`t work with that set up and even if it did we are so slow getting it out it doesn`t matter anyway.
Having said that, it`s not like Livingston have been miles ahead of us, they had one good set piece delivery while in the main ours had been shocking. Even from open play the final ball has been woeful. The ref letting Livi away with multiple tactical fould didn`t help as we couldn`t get a rhythm going.
Of the new boys, Mullan looks pretty good and once he`s up to speed and knows his teammates should be a good signing. Assuming we stay up and he stays long term that could be great business. "Rivaldo" looked decent I thought, always looking to get across and nip away but with a bit of skill to go with it. Looks an upgrade on Hamilton as much as I love Chris H. Yeboah is trying but doesn`t look like a natural finisher. You might get 5 or 6 goals a season and he runs the channels but he`s had very little to work with. Disappointed that Hampson didn`t come on as he was possibly the one I was most looking forward to seeing. Unless we nick an equaliser and it goes to extra time of course...

Two really cheap goals to lose. Disappointing to lose, especially with the home advantage. Livi have done exactly what they done against Falkirk. Got the goals and absorbed the pressure well. Wilson and McGowan are too good for this level.

Livingston have performed extremely well on this pitch (as bad as it is) They’ve barely put a foot wrong all game and defended any crossed balls easily. Only two chances I recall at goal for us was the header in the first half and Yeboah’s one on one. Pretty sure Livi only had two clear chances as well but they made the most of them.
I would argue home advantage still matters regardless of the pitch. Fan backing can still be massive.
As much as it’s gutting to lose, Mullen deserves a lot of credit for his performance. Glad to see him getting man of the match.

That Livi team performance is what we should be aiming for long term. The very definition of professionalism.
Plenty positives if you want to see them.

It’s amazing how people see games and players differently. I thought that performance was decent and there is good potential in all the new boys in the team tonight. Considering they have only been at the club for a few days and have never played together I think they deserve more credit than criticism. Very small margins in the match with Livi having the experience and team cohesion to see the game out. (IMHO)

He actually played well when he came on.
I agree our midfield is our weak link. We don’t have that ball player playing in behind the strikers and too much expected from the wings.
I did feel had we equalised, we would have won the game but it was the classic counter attack that finished us.

Not making excuses but no team looks good here and the pitch is in terrible condition. No criticism of the grounds staff though as you can see it`s been burnt by the undersoil heating. Clear lines up the pitch where it runs.
So we put the USH on to get a match on and it was postponed anyway because it was colder the the system can handle and we end up fooking our pitch up…….
What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

Some observations:
-Mullen looks a great acquisition.
-We look far more dangerous when we play direct.
-KRH was pretty wasteful tonight, got in good positions a few times but final ball was lacking.
-the first goal was a shocker to lose. Poor marking and you wonder if some goalies might have been off their line to claim that cross.
-overall we weren’t too bad but we didkt create enough clear cut chances, the only two times we really looked likely were Bene’s header in the first half and then Yeboah I thought should have done better when put through by Kane.
-Can’t complain about the result, claim we were hard done by or unlucky.

Entertaining enough, really little interest in this cup, so for me fulfilled it`s purpose in giving 3 new boys a good runout, none in my opinion were bad, Mullen looks a real find. For me it was more important to play them, ditto O` Halloran, if he`s not good, then at least we know before the league games kick in.
Feel McCann has more authority and confidence these days, bit more direct too .
Bad pitch, obviously ISH has run it`s course, but at least might get a chance to recover a bit, we can`t be playing a passing game on this, that`s just daft.
Overall, I`m fine, we had enough pressure, new boys looked decent, the better more experienced team won I guess.

Livi first goal is deffo keeper not coming out and demanding his area.
Livi 2nd goal is just a big strong lad up top taking his chance…Lewis Mcann was good tonight BUT Tidser has a lot of work to do.
This passing out from the back then the ball gets played long?? Get the team up the pitch and play long?? We really need a big tall striker like Livi had.

I think the slightly better team won tonight. I remember livi the last time they were in the championship and thinking then as now that they were and are the best team suited to compete in the higher division and they went on to gain promotion and possibly will do the same this season. As for us we`ll there were a few positives from the match tonight but we barely won a second ball the whole match and likewise 50/50 tackles but its going to take a bit of time before we see a big improvement and we shouldn`t get to carried away just because we have made a lot of signings. The main thing is we have to stay up and that is still going to be a tough slog. I am a we bit more optimistic now and hopefully that is not crushed by Aberdeen giving us a doing on Sunday. Yours sincerely I M JOLLY.

Not bothered by the result. The boys put in a decent shift on a terrible surface. Some real positives to take from it, and I think we will have more more than enough to get ourselves out of trouble.
I`d be asking Queens Park if we can swap our games round. That pitch needs a good 3-4 weeks recovery.

Midfield really poor, particularly in the first half. We barely managed a pass in the middle of the pitch and had to try to play it around the outside of them constantly. Just didn`t work at all and needed a change sooner.
Have to give credit to Livi, they knew we`d attempt to play it out from the back and pressed us really quickly. Very much like we did to them the last time we played them at east end. Really disappointed we didn`t do the same to them.
Mullin looks a very good player. I thought Yeboah looked a bit off the pace but Taylor Clarke looks to have something about him.

I was very impressed by Mullen apart from hitting high balls up to Yeboah who isn`t going to win the ball in the air on tonight`s showing.
Muirhead absolutely strolled the game, never pushed off the ball and won pretty much everything in the air.
They played a lot of wee chip balls in behind Ngwenya to get him turning and we should have been doing the same for Yeboah as it looks like he`s got a bit of pace.
I was very disappointed in MOH. Looks no better than he was in his few cameos under McPake. Absolutely no end product off his play. Should have got a shot off on the edge of the box late on but was nowhere near it.
We can`t complain about the result and its disappointing not to get to the final but I agree with Tidser`s decision to play the young lads tonight as the league is most important.

I don`t know how much longer I can watch mcann, why have we had two managers in a row giving him full 90s every week. The amount of play down his side that comes to absolutely nothing kills our attack he needs to move on for his sake and our own.
Hammy won`t fit tidsers team, him and otoo don`t get on the ball enough to play through the thirds which will render our play ineffective in the long term.
New signings look good and tonight was just above the intensity of a friendly so not that arsed

Fairly poor game, not much between the sides but Livi had that bit more know how to win the match. They were tricky opponents, never gave any of our players time on the ball, the moment we received the ball they were right on them.
Mullen looks like a decent player, might need to get him signed up on a long term deal. Taylor-Clarke and Yeboah look like they have a bit of pace but didn`t really do much to impress. They will get better though.
Comrie had a poor game for once, he`s usually very reliable. Benedictus looks like his legs have gone, and Hamilton will maybe lose his place soon.
The pitch was absolutely terrible, again. It`s getting worse season on season. Hopefully the new owners AI can identify a new groundsman as this one isn`t fit to mow my lawn (which looks far better than the tattie field at East End Park)

Don`t think it`s got anything to do with the groundsman, the pitch overall needs money spent, never mind an ancient undersoil heating which has clearly damaged the pitch badly.
Our groundsman has made some fantastic pitches, but it clearly is more serious than that, I`m absolutely against calling out for someone`s job when it almost certainly little he can do.
It needs money spent, more than a new pitch as well.

McCann was very hit and miss. Poor in first half v Nottingham, improved in 2nd half with a couple of efforts and willing to take on his man, but should have done better with cross for Yeboah.
Not sure why people hate MOH so much - looked better than KRH when he came on and did provide the cross that Yeboah took off Otoos toes near end.
Hamilton just not good enough in centre mid - cant turn on the ball to go forward and slows the game down all the time going back to centre halves.

I thought McCann had his best game for as long as i can remember at the weekend.
Was fnally starting to bully defenders, using his body to shield the ball effectively and, crucially, judging the flight of high balls a hell of a lot better than he normally does and not getting caught under the ball by jumping too early.
Hopefully he can push on and get some consistency.
