Team that is heading for relegation shouldn’t be bringing more staff in.

It`s good that we`re creating more jobs in the club but by the sound of some of the hard pressed supporters maybe an emotional and psychological therapy unit might serve a pressing need. Somewhere we can all go at the final whistle and have a good greet. (Joke)

I’ve always had you down as an Arthur Daley / Flash Harry (St Trinians) type, Raymie 😉

As I understand it, it`s Matt`s old job. His replacement didn`t last too long and her replacement is also leaving soon, hence the vacancy.
I`ll not need to dig out the coat, folks. An office job is not for me.

It`s actually a pretty tough gig being a scout, usually involves a lot of travelling to watch next week`s opposition, analysing the match, how the teams set up, what they do at set pieces, for and against, in depth analysis of what each player likes to do when they get the ball, what they do when they are under pressure, pinpointing where the weak links are, then writing up a lengthy report to help the manager prepare for the game. And that`s just what I understood from it, there`s a lot more to it, it involves a real in depth knowledge of the game, not many of us on here could apply for the job, that`s for sure

I think a lot of that is covered by the video analyst these days?
The scout advertisement we have placed is for identifying talent at grass roots level I think.I looked into getting my scouting qualification pre-covid and it involved a course at Largs. It`s something I`ve always fancied so will be looking to get into it in the future.

Do you need to go on a course, parathletic?
What happened to the good old days of just trusting your eyes and your football instincts?

I agree but I`m not sure if an employer would view it the same these days? You would need to demonstrate that your instinct was half decent?
